My favorite quote from that thread:

"The whole ****ing city of Boston should be stripped of their football team. It's a **** joke. Kraft has some type of connections that over rule everything. Maybe Putin......as I've said before. No team has been this dominant for this long. There are too many instances of rule bending and breaking to think the Patriots did it on talent alone"

If that doesn't scream jealousy I don't know what does. Refs control the clock and, of course, makes this laughable.

Guy's obviously unaware of football history as well. San Francisco won 10+ games in 17 of 18 years including 16 in a row and 5 SB titles from 1981-1998, the exception being strike shortened 1982 when there was only 9 RS games and they finished 3-6. Do I care Rice used stickum? No. Those teams were just great and I tip my cap to them.

I used to tip my cap to the Niners, but not anymore. Jerry Rice had a severe case of the dropsies his first season and then he started cheating (the real kind not the trumped up kind that haunts the Pats opponents). Once he went to the illegal stickum he started to catch passes and the 49ers started winning. If Jerry "Sticky" Rice didn't try to take a shot at the Pats success I wouldn't have known that. Thanks Jerry.

Stupid Bills fans. This happens more than people think. Whenever there is a deep pass, there is a chance of this happening since it take players and the refs so long to get back to the line of scrimmage.

But why would they do that anyway? First, the game clock is monitored by the refs and not the Patriots. Second, the League just made an accused equipment violation against Brady into a Federal case, why give him an extra 20 seconds in a game. Third, the game clock was stopped because of an incomplete pass. The Pats were up by 14 points midway through the 4th. If the refs wanted to give the Pats an advantage they would have done it on a play where the game clock was running to help run out the clock.

But that thread is indicative of the NFL culture. When it comes to the Patriots, they see ghosts and any innocent incident turns into a conspiracy.

You're using logic. Stop it!

Anyway, the whole argument from fans of 31 teams is that Goodell and the NFL is in Kraft's back pocket, that the league lets the Pats do whatever they want--headset malfunctions, play clock shenanigans, etc. They'll believe every questionable call going the Pats way, every clock reset, every close first down is a product of 'the league' (basically every ref and NFL official, which is madness) being in the bag for the Pats.

This is a product of Spygate: both Kraft not fighting more for the truth to be uncovered and published, and Goodell destroying the tapes (and I do believe he felt he was nipping it in the bud, as a favor to Kraft, but combining massive penalties with destroyed evidence is a breeding ground for conspiracies). Now every last thing is 'Goodell helping the Pats', despite clear evidence to the contrary (Deflategate, anyone? Jets tampering with Revis didn't result in a pick swap despite it being textbook, and far more egregious than the two cases of tampering that did result in picks being swapped).

Now, no logic or reason will ever, ever convince fans of 31 teams that the Pats play on the level. The SI and ESPN articles were icing on the Spygate/Deflategate cake. This is never going away, unfortunately, just need to fight the good fight (when possible), and laugh and ignore otherwise. We know the truth, that's all that matters.

The brainswashing is so pervasive now that it's sickening. Funny . . . but still sickening. Wow, 15 years of hard work, good coaching, great execution is all being reduced to nothing more than cheating to win. Wow.
Most mornings I take a peek at a few different news sites, local/national/global. Went to CNN this morning and among the top headlines was 'Steelers: We're not saying the Patriots cheated but..." I mean, come on. This is two days later, and the NFL already cleared the Patriots. None of that was mentioned in the stories. They just keep pandering to Clickbait Nation.

Of course the Pats being cleared is not mentioned. That does not draw clicks and ratings. It's much more interesting to keep running with the "cheating" rhetoric that is now the standard. Thank you to ESPNFL and the league office. Thanks to butthurt teams and team owners who now want to bring up Super Bowls over a decade old and claim they lost because they were cheated. Thank you to people like Mortensen who is now hiding under a rock somewhere. It is what it is, Uncle Rico. I've made up in my mind that I'm just going to enjoy the wins and let the haters hate. Stress is bad. LOL

You guys are such frigging homers. You think it's " just a coincidence " that Tom Brady destroyed his old watch when he bought his new Apple watch and that he now controls the scoreboard? Why else would be buy an Apple watch?????

Belichick and Brady should be in jail.

Please please please have this happen again next week in Buffalo. With Brady taking a role. Please please please.

The Pats are Driving While Playing Football (DWPF) at this point...doesn't matter what they are doing, they are going to get pulled over and cited for something, and illegally searched in the process. Then the press will simply report that, "The Patriots were once again pulled over and searched, but again managed to avoid being caught with contraband. Rumors persist, however..."

Isn't the most likely scenario here that the refs signaled the play clock being reset and brady then signaled it to make sure everyone was aware?

People have just lost their minds. We just spent 7 months dealing with bs and they think the pats are going to screw with the head sets and playclock during the first game of the season on national TV?

The most succinct and on-target pointed comment on the entire situation that I have seen. The term may go over some people's heads, but you nailed this.

In fact, if there could be one headline title for this season, it should be "Patriots 2015 : DWPF".

Well done.

I saw this Clockgate thing on Twitter yesterday, and just off it there was another tweet that people started responding to, accusation that the clock started running after a Pitt receiver ran out of bounds at 7 1/2 minutes of the 4th qtr.

So people don't know the basic rules.

I will say that, since I live in Buffalo and see bills fans/friends often bashing the Patriots on my facebook feed, they are all really joking and enjoying this. They are not taking it seriously (other than coming back and knocking delusional Patriots fans when a Patriot fan defends the Pats too forcefully).

Whenever I respond, I just do what Belichick did, and point out my concern that they are losing their minds. My concern that they are behaving in a way that is beneath them. They laugh it off. The biggest anti-Patriot poster is also a person that months ago expressed doubt that deflategate was true at all. So it's clear people think this is big joke, and a perfect opportunity to blast the Patriots and downplay the success.

You know this would usually piss me off no end. But it's coming from Bills fans, and I have a soft place in my heart for Bills fans. I mean, first you have to sympathize with a fan base that is 15 years from its last playoff game. Second, all those people have to live in or near Buffalo. So it isn't easy being a Bills fan, and it hasn't been for a very, very, long time. So you really have to give them a pass when the have a shot at trolling Pats fans; even when it's over nothing. ;)

"At first I thought I lost because of my injured shoulder and the dancing from Floyd Mayweather but now I know the truth. The Patriots must have cheated somehow."

I thought your post was actually giving ESPN even more credit than it deserves.

You said the article might say: "Although they were cleared by the NFL, the Patriots were accused of piping their radio broadcast into the Steelers' in-game communication system..."

My thought was why would they even mention that they were cleared by the NFL, the accusation alone will get the clicks. So I thought the article would instead read: "The Patriots were accused of piping their radio broadcast into the Steelers' in-game communication system..."

Either way they would both be accurate because they "were" accused.

It's even worse than that. Watch OS v2 has a feature called "Time Travel" which means with a twist of the digital crown, your watch moves through time*. Imagine the fun Brady and BB can have with that

*Not really people, Apple are good but not that good. The feature is called that though :)

They have succumbed to mass hysteria.

I don't care about stickum, Jerry Rice was a great all time WR imo. I don't feel that any of SF SB wins are tainted either.

Hot damn there are so many stupid people that watch the game of football. I love being at games and seeing the morons celebrate a huge play when there was a blatant foul called that will reverse it, yet they are still cheering like idiots, then boo because of the call lol.

They just keep pandering to Clickbait Nation.
Societal Pavlov Syndrome. they can't help themselves, they've been ampted up on negative emotions and sugar for many years and don't understand they've been trained corporate america, who must be controlled by the Masons or Illuminati :p
