Official NFL Statement:

It is our view that the Cheatriots may not have been involved in jamming the radio frequencies of the Steelers, which gives them a huge competitive advantage and is yet another act of cheating by this underhanded, despicable franchise. We cannot prove that a corrupt Cheatriot employee tampered with the equipment with his grubby, immoral hands, depriving the Steelers of a fair game. We will continue to ask for the cooperation of Bill Belicheat and Shady Brady to prevent further cheating from these two lowlifes going forward. We want to remind you that just because we didn't prove it yet does not mean that aren't cheaters in many other ways.

Having been married for a few decades, I could certainly use one around here. Please let me know if/when you find out.
I'm on my 3rd decade of matrimonial bliss and I second the request.

One thing we know for certain that Jeff Howes Tweet and the NFL's "official" explanation will only be run once at BSPN and likely never be heard again. Meanwhile spurious allegations of the Pats' cheating ways will be aired every 15 minutes.....and so it continues
I predict at 12:2oam on Saturday.

Steelers owe the Patriots an apology. Their website flat out lied about what happened last night. Not sure if anyone caught it as I haven't fully read the thread..

The Pittsburgh website said that the problem would miraculously go away when NFL personnel got to the Patriots side and them come back when they returned to the Pittsburgh side.. Totally contradicts everything else we've heard..
They are a classless organization. I'm not expecting it.

I'm hearing the problems were caused by weather but BB secretly fixed the headset to make sure all of Tomlin's ****ty plays would get out.

In other words, "After further review, the Patriots aren't in big f-ing trouble."

After the off season we just had and those SI/espn stories that was the cheapest of the cheap, lowest of the low hanging fruit shots I've ever seen taken at us. He lost any ounce of respect I had left for him.

I hate whining after games, I hate when coaches make excuses, I don't care how bad a ref's call was or how bad a hit was on a player on a particular player, I don't care about penalties, I just don't want to hear it. If it's legit, file your grievance with the league and move on please. Wether it's our coach or anyone elses, I personally can't stand complaining. It's for message boards not leaders. You congratulate opponents, not blame headsets.

What Tomlin did last night was one of the lowest things I've ever seen and to pretend that this is some mystery stadium when he knows these things happen elsewhere is incomprehensible and indefensible.

He should apologize...

I heard Belichick asked George Bush to design a rainstorm machine and last night was the beta testing. The rumored official release date is when the Jets come to town.

Where was BB when the moon landing was faked?

The irony is the media was crying WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN in the farce that was Framegate. Well, you know what? I have an 8 year old son who is really into sports and I have had to sit down and talk to him all right….about being a sore loser and blaming others for your loss when you could work harder. The NFL is NOT making it easy for me when they are acting like children whining about the most ridiculous ****.

Wonder if the nfl will issue a statement clearing the Steelers of any wrongdoing in connection with the Patriots' radio issues ...

This is ridiculous. I had a good laugh. Some excerpts:

"The nearly unbeatable Atlanta Falcons have an unusually poor record against the lowly New England Patriots. This may shock you, but in the Mike Smith era, it appeared that the Falcons were easily out-coached by the Patriots. How could that possibly happen to Mike Smith, a true football mind?"

" Many thought those games felt fishy, as if the Patriots knew exactly what the Falcons were going to do"

"According to Wikipedia, The entire second half was completely dominated by the Patriots. That does not sound like Smith teams I know."

"The mad genius Belichick found the key to neutralizing the Falcons vaunted pass rush, through his intentional violation of football rules. How else can you explain the Falcons falling apart in the third quarter?"

Sports used to actually be sports. I dont know how long ago. I cant remember honestly. What it is now is reality TV. I am glad I got to live through the "sports" era of sports. I cant even imagine how much worse this will get.

This **** never would have played 20-30 years ago. Thank God my life does not revolve around this. I only follow football and it will be easy to tune it out in several years when BB/TB are gone.

"OH don't listen to Tomlin, lol, he's just Tripping again"

Headsets are a trending topic; have you had trouble before (with them) at a game?

"The very first time (for me) was in 1997. (Jon) Gruden was the coordinator and I was with the Eagles. He was up in the box and I had the wireless. We were in Dallas (and it was) Monday Night Football. We had a real exotic way of signaling, if they were to go out. Ty Detmer's helmet thing was struggling and communications weren't good. Here I am, a rookie coach in the NFL, having to signal about 80 different plays. It was a nightmare. I would say that every year, of the 16 games we have, we're going to have (issues with communications) three-or-four times. Sometimes (there are) issues at home. There is a group that each team has. We have a couple of guys that are in charge of it. There are two issues; there is the wireless to the QB and the linebacker, and then your overall static. That comes up periodically and you deal with it. I don't think that it is unusual."

You ever have any trouble in New England?

"No, not in New England. Generally, it is a frequency thing. A lot of times, when it comes to the communication to the QB or the linebacker, it's a user error. I think it varies. I can't specifically think of different places but I know that three times a season you're going to have some issue. You just have to be ready for that and be able to handle it. It is not uncommon."

"I mean, the lights went out at the Super Bowl one year," Payton said, referring to the infamous delay in New Orleans.

ERrrrrr.... because we hate the ravens ...Oh is this thing on ?

Tomlin Really crossed the line posting it on the Steelers web site. Most Saints fans see this for what it is.

this is getting old, so now if you can't beat the Patriots all you have to do is cry "they cheated" .... what is this, preschool?

Kind of what I was thinking.

So, it was the headsets. Not your kicker missing field goals. Not your inability to cover Gronk. Not your inability to take advantage of a secondary that lost 2 corners from last year. It was the headsets. Whatever.

um Nogate

I used to respect Tomlin....no more...he is a just another cry baby that wants everyone to have a trophy.

Our whole world is turning into $&?,5)&@.....ies

And Sean Peyton says good things too. I guess not "everyone" knows the the Patriots mess with the communications.

Bah.. its just the NFL trying to look reasonable and regain some credit about these things.

Kind of like a crazy-ex girlfriend who suddenly stops crying and starts talking calmly and reasonably after chasing you around the house for an hour with an oversied kitchen knife and screaming about you not refilling the icetrays back up with water to her preferred proportions.

I must lead a boring life, that's never happened to me but I get the gist

I take it you aren't a racing fan. I'm a big car racing fan too and its so bad now. They have these things called Balance of Performance. Basically if a car is too fast (within the rules specifications mind you) they will slow you down. Or if you can't make a decent car, they speed you up.

It's a joke and these guys put their lives on the line. It isn't racing really, it's a show like WWF. Football outside of NE is becoming that. The Pats are just an outlier and that really grinds at the NFL and their money making policy.

31 owners, Roger Goodell, ESPN, Fox, NBC, CBS, ABC and a thousand smaller NFL peddling outlets just put Tomlin on their Christmas card list. Tomlin just made all the marketing people giddy and all the click peddlers ecstatic. He made clearer the identification of the person or entity to hate. It's the boogeyman coming in a few form, the walking outrage, the red(and blue) menace.

When the Patriots are playing nationally televised games or, eventually, playoff games? Score! they'll get people tuning in to see those cheating bastards somehow someway finally get theirs! And as much as other fans and some in the NFL will hate it, if the Patriots to go on an 07 type winning run the TV people will do friggin cartwheels. Every football weekend the hot air gets thicker and louder getting more and more to tune in to the suspense of seeing if/when the boogeyman finally gets beaten down.

Make no mistake this 'everything Patriots is cheating' angle is too good to pass up. The TV people are going to squeeze every drop they can out of it by revving the cheating angle up as much as possible.
