I believe the Pats should lose a draft pick for the actions of the vocal fanbase.

I'm sure the Pats fan "instigated" the poor little Squeeler coach.

"Instagate Gate"!!

Daniel is in his 60s and has been coaching in the league since '93. Needless to say, he doesn't have much of a "fan-kicking" history. Will be interesting to hear his side -- obviously if he just ran up to a fan and kicked him, unprovoked (or for just being in the way), he'll have is walking papers shortly.

It begs the question though -- how in the heck do fans at Gillette even get that close to coaches of the opposing team? Is the opposing team entrance in a public area? If so, it should be filed in the "disaster waiting to happen" category.

In other news, Daniel is apparently more accurate than Josh Scobee.

Never mind, just saw brensa's post about how the seating sections are laid out.

I thought it was an eye for an eye, not a leg for a leg.

Here's the tough guy btw;

Sadly, if Big Ben can get away with raping a young girl, this nitwit can definitely get away with kicking a heckling Pats fan.
Someone should photoshop this guy in steelers throwback black and white stripe jail unis

I believe that the visitors' coaches box is up above sections 331/332. The aisle between those two sections is blocked off to allow the coaches fast access/egress. They go up there just before kick off, come back down at halftime, go back up just before the second half kicks off and then head back down to the locker room just as the game ends.

When you sit in sections 331/332 or 309/310 (Patriots' coaches box), you make sure to plan your beer runs/bathroom trips accordingly. :)

"Kicked in the back of the leg" sounds like some ******** to me.

But I really, really loathe today's "Someone pokes a finger at you scream assault!" society.

If it was a ****ing double round house dragon kick to the calf well, I hope he gets what's coming to him. But if it was some minor ****...eh...

I am guessing that, at 62 years old, if Daniel tried to execute a double round house dragon kick, he actually would *immediately* get what's coming to him, in the form of a torn groin/quad/abdomen etc.

Unless he's that rare breed of 62 year-old, overweight ninja.

You really need to post a lot more here. You're awesome.

It's OK, ESPN is on it.

NFL security is investigating Pittsburgh Steelers tight ends coach James Daniel for allegedly assaulting and verbally accosting a New England Patriots fan on the way to the locker room before halftime, according to league sources.

A league official confirmed the NFL is aware of the incident and is looking into it. A Steelers spokesman said NFL security has informed them about the incident and the team is also investigating.

The incident in question occurred before and after halftime. Daniel, who was on his way to the Steelers' locker room, was seen allegedly kicking a Patriots fan in the back of his leg and yelling at the fan in front of witnesses.

By the time Daniel returned to the coaching booth after halftime, police and NFL security were waiting for him. Once the coach was identified by witnesses, and police approached him about controlling his behavior, Daniel began shouting at the police officer, according to witnesses.

NFL security, which did not witness the exchange with police, afterward interviewed Daniel about the entire incident, according to sources.

What no video?

Just saw this as I was on my way out from getting my hair cut.. Supposedly Daniel kicked a fan at half-time. Fan went and got the cops and NFL security. When confronted, Daniel was verbally abusive to the NFL Security, the Cops and the fan..

Sounds like the symptoms of a guy using steroids. Some things never change in the Steelers organization

According to my anonymous source the fan in question ate 11 of the 12 pieces of fried chicken, leaving just a drumette for Daniel. In an opiate and steroid fueled rage, Daniel stumbled after and kicked and occosted the man. He reportedly was incoherently screaming about big bird and the cookie monster as he fled to the locker room.
