Any word on Easley?

Still think it's bizarre how Collinsworth and Michaels got all worked up over the radio thing then completely dropped it.

I wonder how much Bob Costas spends on hair dye per month

I'll take bend but don't break over trail but don't look back for the ball defense. Heard BB used to put a neck brace on the players to train them not to look back for the ball.

my god the pass defense/3rd down D.
we cant stop ben at all...maybe some adjustments idk. no answer so far, lucky the steelers are fools. :D

With Willis retired in SF there is no doubt that Collins and Hightower are the best 1-2 LB tandem in the NFL.

The team failed to play perfectly in the first half of the first game of the season.

It's over. Defense sucks, Fletcher sucks, pass-rush sucks. Season's over, go home everyone.

o_O

Cool. Gronk.

Brady only had 2 misses the whole game

DID SOMEONE CHECK THE BALLS PEOPLE

The defense is a little worrisome although I can't complain about the breaks they've gotten.

First half thoughts.

#1 These Steelers will be an issue later in the year. I don't wanna jinx this game but that TD that wasn't *Bryant makes that* and those FG misses *maybe a new kicker* and their run game sputtering *Add in Bell* I would say by all rights they should be up if all those things were different. This offense is going to be hard to deal with but luckily their D is what it is.

#2 Butler looks good. He is getting perhaps his toughest test of the year his first game and though he has won and lost some he is holding up well. I am curious to see how much more he can improve as they year goes on. The 2 other CBs have been a bit disappointing they are generally in the area but if the throws are good and routes are good there is not much they can do unless they get away with a little bump or hold. To be fair Brown ha been better than Fletcher.

#3 Front 7 looks good. Consistent Pressure. Bot much else to say.

#4 Easley. Hoping for the best. I get the feeling it is not season ending but he might not be back for a while. Malcom Brown had a really shaky start but seattled down nicely as has the rest of the run D. Wanna see it carry over.

#5 The pass catchers are very good. Gronk/Edelman/Amendola/Lewis have all shinned tonight. Dobson's catch was clean which is good. I hope it keeps up. No Chandler really. A few block plays but that is all. Hope we see him more in the 2nd half and less Gronk if this continues.

#6 OL has looked good. In pass blocking particularly. A few break downs but not bad. Run blocking has been better than a thought but a lot of it is good runs.

Looking forward to the end half.

@PFF_NateJahnke: NE DT snap count: Malcolm Brown 17, Geneo Grissom 13, Dominique Easley 8, Alan Branch 5, Sealver Siliga 4

Wow Grissom

Well, let's be fair........ Pittsburgh does have a pretty solid offense (even with injuries/suspensions). Big Ben is a top 5-6 QB and AB is one of the best WR in the league. At the half, they only have 3 points. I'll take it.

Welcome {back} to the bend don't break defense of days gone by. :D

Yeah, agree...We're not going to face too many offenses better than Pitt this year and I have a feeling we're going to be seeing a lot of teams being able to move the ball on us, but hopefully once they get in the red zone, we'll be able to stop them.

Still think it's bizarre how Collinsworth and Michaels got all worked up over the radio thing then completely dropped it.
"One has to wonder if radios were banned, this tragedy could have been avoided."
-Bob Costas

i thought i heard somewhere nfl/nbc were going to correct the info regarding the headset radios?

Half time thoughts

1. The OL has been as good as anyone could have hoped for. I will be interested to see who got the majority of the snaps. The C has been outstanding in protection.

2. I love me some Deon Lewis. He makes people miss and runs hard. Unlike White, the first guy mostly never gets him down.

3. This is still pre season for this offense. so the best is yet to come

4. Dobson one for one in catch and got a little YAC as well. Take that haters.

5. So the Steelers have more yds than the Pats yet are behind 14-3. And so sums up 40 years of defensive football coached by BB

6. Defense doing better as the game going on. Better against the run, but not good yet. Lots of holding by the Steeler OL. HIghtower has been immense. His is clearly the best LB on the field, even better than Collins who looks a little light in he pants in the middle. Also haven't heard much from Mayo, I wonder if he's getting snaps or are the pats in nickel a lot.

7. The more I watch Butler the more I like him, he's no Revis...yet, but he's a decent #1 CB for this team. one huge question has been answered.]

8. I will be interested to see who got the S snaps along with McCourty. It's hard to follow on TV.

9. Except for the injury to Easley, the Missed pass to Amendola, and Solder's 2 early penalties, its been a pretty good start on both sides of the ball. Better than I expected quite frankly.

10. But don't forget the Pats had a 10 point lead against Miami last season

Pretty damn impressive what the offense has done despite having 3 ROOKIES starting on the interior
