SMY Moving on

Thought I saw that she just had a baby. Maybe its a lifestyle choice.

Maybe she got sick and tired of that place.

Maybe she got sick and tired of seeing Trollin' Volin every day.

Well, like her or not a few years ago I do recall after she had reported something that turned out not to be true she came to this board to explain herself. Very admirable to do that IMO.

Good luck to her.

Fair thee well Shalise.

She'll get paid for being a "reporter" from her living room???
I guess we are all reporters. (Brady6 posts from his parents' basement so I'm not sure what title to give him :) )

Good for her. My wife recently moved to a work from home position (she's a VoIP engineer), and it's a huge help since we're having our first child next month. I'm glad SMY can similarly have a good situation for her new job.

I'm surprised you can't write from home at the Globe.

Good for her. I always enjoyed what she wrote on Twitter etc. more than her actual stories in the paper. Thought she she showed a sensible voice that wasn't coming through in stories. Maybe well see more of it.

Best reporter I've had personal dealing with in recent years was a Computerworld/IDG guy who worked from his home in Maine, and rarely came into the office unless there happened to be an event to attend in Boston anyway, and I think rarely even then.

Journalism isn't exactly my main career, but I've worked from home since Ronald Reagan was president. :)

Good luck to SMY! Nobody should dislike her.

Yeah I remember her coming here to explain herself and such, as well as popping in from time to time. Good luck to her. She was too good for the Globe anyway.

Congrads on getting out of John Henry's other pet dinosaur!

Take a few with you on the way out.

Shalize, if you're stopping by, I have a question for Bill Belichick:

Bill, there have been reports lately about steps other teams take when they play the Patriots, to protect their confidential and strategic information. They worry that your team's workers will go through trash and find other ways to gain information. As a coach, have you ever felt it necessary to take steps that protect your team's confidential information from other teams? Have you ever taken or ordered that steps be taken to protect your team's interest in this way?

Or something like that.

Best wishes, Shalise. Always have appreciated your agenda-free reportage and good eye for stories. Need more like you and Reiss.
