Rosenberg was cowriter of the smear SI piece yesterday. Florio found a story that he made sound really ominous, but really was a nothing story. From the article:

“[E]very Friday teams must announce which injured players are doubtful, questionable or probable to play that Sunday,” the report explains. “Teams usually take 53 players to the game and announce, 90 minutes before kickoff, which seven are inactive. But sometimes, at Saturday-night meetings, Belichick tells his staff which players on the opposing team were not on the flight to New England, a source with knowledge of the meetings tells SI. It’s not clear how Belichick knows. But he does.”

But as Florio points out, teams are required to downgrade any player to "Out" earlier in the day if they don't make the trip.

Rosenberg makes it sound like Belichick has spies at opposing teams' airport when all he did was actually read the Saturday injury report.

Rosenberg is the same idiot who claims the Patriots have a giant big screen TV in the parking lot that is viewable by the Patriots sidelines that Belichick uses to get the replays before the other team. EVERYONE who has been on the Patriots sidelines from reporters to players have said that there is no big screen viewable from the Patriots sidelines other than the ones in each end zone.

His january piece was a hatchet job. This one is no better

Yeah, it's funny. No one in the media are even giving their article any credibility. Even the haters seem to ignoring it and only focusing on the ESPN article.

There's a benefit to how silly these things are getting, for me anyway.

I think there's a chance this is starting to bug me less...it's beginning to just be funny.

LOL. This is just like all the other times that BAD BAD BAD stories about the Patriots dropped and at first everyone loses their minds and then slowly holes start getting poked in everything and eventually everyone realizes it was all B.S. I'm proud of this board though….I don't think anyone lost their mind this time….too much experience with all this garbage.

The whole player not making a trip thing is so weird. Anyone who bought into that one isn't worth the time. I have been finding out for years who didn't make the trip on Saturdays from either beat reporters or the Patriots themselves. You must declare a player OUT if they don't make the trip.

Makes you wonder about the editors at these rags. How does a football fan (many of them) know how this process works for every team, yet crap like that still makes it into the article? Not that they have much, but credibility is lost when simple stuff like that is pointed out.

I've heard from sources that the Patriots beam their playcalls RIGHT into Tom Brady's helmet. CHEATERRRRRRRRRRS!!!!!

Most of the outlets that brand themselves as about sports or football are actually just entertainment outlets that never have had any interest in journalism. They are a different business model entirely, dressed to confuse.

So sick of these hacks. They are embarrassing themselves.

Yeah man. I heard Tom Brady is actually a hyper-advanced android sent here from the future to win Super Bowls because the rings have secret psychic energy that will be harnessed by our alien overlords in the next century... I also heard Belichick is the result of a secret military mental augmentation program during the Cold War, making him a master strategist. Also Ernie Adams is the reincarnation of a Norse god. It's all legit info, man. I checked my sources.

I hope you Googled it, just to make sure.

So a major sports site with fact checkers didn't know how injury reports work. How do they not check this with 1 of the 100 million people who know this ****.

This just in, I'm hearing the Patriots get credited 6 points for every TD when everyone else gets 5.

Wait, I'm getting news now the TDs are actually worth 6 points, for everyone.
