Florio Shoots Hole in SI.com Story

On The NFL Network they have a banner running across the bottom of the screen during the Pats segment saying that between 2000 and 2007 the Pats taped signals in at least 4o games. Of course, the implication is that these were all illegal tapings when, of course, it was completely legal to tape signals until 2007.

Sports journalism has definitely been exposed over the last year

It doesn't matter. BB is in their heads and that's good for the Patriots. Bring it on. Bring it on.

Damn! I always knew, too which players didn't make the trip because I read it Saturday morning in the injury report. I thought I was special.

Not that it matters. The majority of the country is loving every bit of it.

Can't wait for the rules committee to ban all players and coaches from being literate.

Well, since that appears to be the rule for league officials already it's not much of a stretch.

Between 2000 and 2006, the Patriots played 110 games (96 regular season and 14 playoff.) They taped signals in 36% of those. In those terms, it seems a lot less devious than the "OMG! 40 Games!" presentation.

36%

sounds about the brain capacity of the ESPN journalists

Good story, but I'm a little confused by one thing in the title.... What does this word "journalism" mean?

It's in the dictionary, but it says "archaic" underneath. Apparently, it used to be a profession with a code of ethics, whatever that is.

You missed the most important part!

"The full text was copied and pasted from an article by Mike Reiss (then of the Boston Globe; the link to his story is now dead) to the website PatsFan.com"

So who gave Florio the link? Or did it come up in a Google search on Martz's words? (Of course, now it probably will :) )
