Not sure what to make of the sour grapes stuff. Sure seems like everyone who ever lost to 2001-07 Pats now has a built-in excuse for failure

Not only the NFL, this is the whole of freaking America. Boohoo, my college professor failed me. I'm gonna call my mummy and daddy and they're gonna call all their friends and stop donating money so you can't give financial aid to the other poor kids who are smarter than me.

The legends of the game must be rolling over in their graves. What a F'in disgrace this entire sport is now that the media controls it. If I wasn't engaged in football my entire life I wouldn't go near this game. The whiny bastards in soccer look like hardened survivalists compered to the miserable and whiny bastards in the NFL-ESPN cartel.

Except wasn't it after a timeout? (Maybe my memory is wrong) So BB had shotgun mics aimed at their huddle and intercepted (no pun intended) their play.

No - that was one of the more memorable moments of that play, the fact that he *didn't* call a timeout.

Clearly because Belichick had directly stolen the play call from Carroll's brain using unauthorized scientific devices.

There was no timeout. That's one of the most important and talked about facets of THE play of all plays.

And get this, BB "claimed" he didn't call time out because the Seahawks weren't real organized as they were getting ready to run the play and he thought calling time out would help them regroup.

He's just lucky it all worked out.

If it wasn't chunky when it went down, it was chunky for sure at the 40 yard line. Yum yum!
Is there a rating choice for gross?

Seriously though, if this is the way it's gonna be, we have to learn to embrace it. Let's get our own Cheatriots shirts and deflated football hats and wear them proudly. Screw the rest of the league.

Hearing from unnamed sources Eagles are suspicious the Patriots did something to Donovan McNabb's chunky Campbell soup. McNabb when asked about it from unnamed sources said he didn't puke but, if he did it's possibly the Patriots could have something to do with it.

hahahahahahaha

Not sure if it will hurt or help when "Do Your Job" is put out and the rest of the league learns that the defense he called for the last play of the game was the first time all year they'd used that defense.

I always await what Simmons has to say when stuff like this happens. I look forward to what he does on HBO.

I agree, I've always like Bill Simmons, especially his writing.

Some of his Podcasts were pretty good also, I remember the Football ones with Mike Lombardi and the Basketball ones with Steve Kerr being especially good (too bad they are now both employed for teams).

When he was on the ESPN Basketball broadcasts, he was OK, but that is not really what he is one-of-a-kind at. It is his writing especially that can be sublime in some cases.

This isn't really going out on a limb much, but I've completely convinced either he or one of his staffers reads Patsfans.com occassionally. A couple of years back, there was a very off -the-wall thread that was absolutely not something that was obvious or timely and I had never seen anybody write on this weird subject before. A day or two later, he addressed this exact subject in one of his mailbags, although he said something like ("I received an E-Mail on (weird subject).....", and then he addressed it). I noticed because I had brought up the weird subject in the thread, but I hadn't E-Mailed him. It could have been a coincidence, but again it wasn't anything timely or obvious and I had never seen anyone else talk about this weird subject.

That was the most obvious example. However, during Deflategate he seemed so knowledgable that I wouldn't be surprised if he or one of his staffers were reading some posts by many of the knowledgable people here.

It wouldn't be shocking, he is a Pats fan also.

Absolutely. I enjoy his writing style very much. Obviously some of his opinions needed to be censored at ESPN. It will be interesting to see what he cooks up for HBO.

Developed and patented by Ernie "Dr. Strangelove " Adams!

ESPN will probably quote unnamed sources as claiming that the Patriots attempted "to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids."

And Bill Simmons retweeted Matt Taibbi about the John Madden thing. Simmons has over 4.5 million followers so people will watch/listen to it.

I mailed it to Florio. Not sure if he'll look at it or not..

Simmons called Goodell a liar and was suspended for it. He'll probably get his money back at the same time the Patriots get their draft picks back.

Ernie Adams : from international man of mystery to most influential human of all time.

Coach Psychic said "something just didn't look right."

Luck, as the great Branch Rickey once pointed out, is the residue of design.

Never use the language of mortals when ascribing supernatural phenomena to the workings of a genius.
