Sirius NFL Prediction- Gots to be Trollin, Right?

I love the part where they flop in the playoffs and everyone is shocked but picks them to win the SB in August yet again.

I can understand the Packers selection by some. Narrow loss vs SEA. Losing Nelson is a blow but they are a very good team. Rodgers is good enough to win with good WRs.

But Indy? If Peyton is healthy they win that game last year. Their destruction last year was so complete on all levels. I can see if it was 2011 Ravens when they almost won.

Does the media believe that losing Revis, Browner and WV and the Dolts picking up Gore and Johnson bring them to even?

I'm trying to wrap my head around the logic.

What are the chances the Colts get demoted to the CFL after week 6?

Maybe they can get a grey cup.

Colts are very lucky we're not in the same division like way back when.

I still think Grigson had a historically stupid offseason.

Spent tons of money on A. Johnson and Gore. Both in their mid-30s and appear to be cooked. Sure, they are hungry to win, but what difference does that make when you are a shell of your former self? Gore could be replaced with a variety or RBs including a mid round draft pick. He is ancient for a RB and always ran behind an amazing line in SF. Johnson? At best he is the 2012 version of Wayne, and I'm skeptical of even that. He has been on steep decline the last two years; just look at the splits between him and Deandre Hopkins.

Oh, and Trent Cole, another mid-30s former sack specialist whose career is basically over, but he used to be good.

Basically zero reinforcements in the trenches where the Colts got gutted.

It's almost like a 2008 fantasy team.

Do you think if the colts start being successful (no colts I mean proper successful - not hanging banners for AFC title losses) that people would start hating them ala the Patriots?

Surely this colts love in is a pity vote?

I don't see the Colts pick as outrageous -- remember too, sometimes media types just want 'splash' predictions as it's probably perceived as dull to their readers if they just predict the same teams every year. I imagine the Colts will be everyone's up-and-coming, media darling team this year (and they *did* make the AFCCG last year, so it's not a massive stretch).

The other thing is, you guys were the last team to actually repeat -- a dozen years ago -- and Seattle's the only other team in the past 15 years to even make it back to the Super Bowl after a championship.

Two teams in 15 years means it's probably smarter to NOT pick teams to make it back if you're a prognosticator (whether Indy is a better pick than Baltimore or some other team, IDK)

And, when they could have gotten the pass rusher they needed to help stop the Patriots' power running game. . . . they draft a slot WR.

THAT was a headscratcher. I like Philip Dorsett as much as the next guy, but damn.

Sometimes though teams draft guys that don't make sense to the public, but make sense internally due to private concerns that the team has. Pitt drafted Coates in the 3rd this year, and that seemed like a luxury pick at a time when we needed help elsewhere...but now Bryant is looking like a head case and Pitt's FO fully admits that was a consideration in drafting Coates. Maybe the Colts don't like Moncreif's makeup, or maybe they had concerns at the time about extending Hilton. Still seems wacky but maybe not as crazy as it might seem.

Good point about Bryant. No matter what the draftniks say, the professionals running the draft always know more than the casual fan who may hate the picks.

Love those Colts and Packer predictions ... keep them coming lots of room left in the locker room.

Agreed. Even though these same people in December will say defense wins championships

Are the Colts are installing their preseason participation banner in their stadium next week?
