SO where are all those who were screaming and complaining about the cut of Revis, positive that THEY could have fit him under the cap....Currently our top salaried CB is making 2 mill.....so where is the other 16 mil plus going to come from for this year....not to mention the contracts for Soldier,Hightower, and Jones next year,,,What would you have sacrificed this and every year of his contract....The argument was and is still totally without merit....Total BS...

I could see them trading Chandler Jones. The writing is on the wall by the way they drafted. Two DE's and their biggest FA signing this year all play Jones position.

I think Solder will get an extension.
And yes, the 'cap is crap' crowd are again proven wrong.

I would not mind one bit.

That is why Bill and the front office run the Patriots and the 'cap is crap' crowd sit behind computers moaning.

We always benefit from having good players all over, rather that a few overpaid stars and then scrubs all over the show.

Why do people insist on suggesting trading one of the teams best players over a problem they don't have to deal with. BB will figure it out. I get it where tight to the cap and need some wiggle room but why dis Chandler Jones because of it?

And it doesn't even make sense. They'd only free up $1.2m doing it.

There's still the matter of Wayne getting a 450,000 signing bonus. Has he given that back?

Writing is on the wall with the way they drafted and they did it for a reason and it is to replace Jones next year who they will not be able to pay. Based off past history I could see them doing a trade before the start of the season. You should go back and listen to some of BB press conf. regarding the cap and they always like to have wiggle room or carry cap space into the next year.

Not saying I would want them to trade Jones, but based on what is on the roster I could see them doing it.

Oh, please not Chandler Jones. Having him and now Jaball Sheard come off the edge not only gives NE a stronger pass rush, but also gives the D freedom to use Ninkovich in different ways; cause he's pretty damn good in coverage. You can really mix it up with this front-7.

Ask John Elway for some tips. Broncos have always been good at "cap management" so to speak.

A Soldier extension would create some cap space...it should be a priority NOW...

All the crap that was handed out by all the self gratifying cap experts...Imagine if deflategate never took over we would still be hearing it....Mediots will still push this all year, oblivious to the cap...

Until Cap $ = Actual $, your argument is, and will remain, nonsensical.

Memba the time part-timer was freaking out about the remaining cap space a few days before the season NE went back-to-back for the second time in BB's tenure as HC ? He be all like using the CAPs and such. There was a reference to Revis. It was hilarious.

In what universe do you live that Chandler Jones is one of our best players?

If you are talking about 2015 cap space then our top CBs are Revis @ $5M and Arrington @ $3.25M. You are very strong in your OP when conveying your opinion but you are not presenting all the facts of the situation.

When looking at the 2015 cap, Revis, Arrington, Fletcher, and Brown have a combined cap figure of about $12.5M. Last season Revis, Browner, and Arrington had a combined cap hit of around $13.4M against the 2014 cap. Cap for cap this season total cap figure from CBs is larger than last.
