Brady left off NFL Promo for Super Bowl 50

Johnny U was the Colts starting QB in Super Bowl V, which the Colts won.
My bad.

IIRC he sucked and got knocked out of the game and Earl Morrell won it for them.

Hilarious they took it down. Really makes me wonder if a jets fans is running that garbage feed
The Pats are renting space in the NFL's head.

The balls absolutely violated the rules. Its WHY and HOW they violated them that is the issue. Plus the issue that the other teams balls also violated these rules.

I think the technicality of what violated what rules is kind of an open question, although I haven't memorized the rulebook.
once they have been submitted w/i the legal limits + approved for playby refs i think that's it - legal balls.
what happens after that is irrelevant, obviously so long as it isn't tampering

Still waiting for someone to convince me why I should believe NE games this year (and beyond) will be refereed fairly.

And yes, the NFL won't be so stupid as to outright tell the ref to cheat (though you never know), but all they have to do is have their toady Blandino (or whoever grades the refs) downgrade correct close calls for NE, upgrade incorrect close calls against NE, and the refs will get the message.
The refs have a fairly strong union themselves. If there's a pattern of performance assessments that is oriented against a particular team, you can bet that the referee's union would file a grievance. Given the NFL's already sorry reputation, I seriously doubt they go that way. But then, how did that SB50 graphic get out? Makes you wonder who's running the shop.

But there now seems to be a growing backlash from the media. Just look at this nice quote from Peter King referring to the NFL graphic:

That’s utterly preposterous. … I saw some reference to it last night but I really didn’t look into it. So this morning I looked at and I said, ‘What in the world is the NFL thinking?’ To put — I forget who else is on it — but I mean it’s clearly the one who sticks out is Carson Palmer. … Look, that was a case where the NFL should have said, ‘Hey, listen, we’d be better off putting nothing out than this.’ It’s ridiculous. Tom Brady is either the, or one of the top three, top four, whatever the number is, best quarterbacks of all time, best players of all time. And to not have him on a list like that, and in a graphic like that, the year after he’s the Super Bowl MVP, is preposterous.”
His mea culpa on deflategate reporting is also well worth reading:

Brady left out of NFL Promo for Super Bowl 50. Is the league really this petty? I am really starting to dislike the NFL in general. If not for the Patriots, I wouldn't watch their product anymore. The league is being run by scumbags. Reiss went on to say that the League deleted that tweet later. Whatever, it never should have been tweeted in the first place.

Good. This will only feed his hate.

(Plus this is a repeat thread)

At least he owned it and went on WEEI to face the music. Meanwhile in Mort land ....crickets....

Mort's last tweet Sept 2. hahaha

Thanks for telling me. I didn't see the other thread. Mods please close or move this. Thanks.

Damn, they win so much that even the league hates them! I'm starting to see the humor in all of this . . .

And one more time, Palmer?! Okay, so I get that the NFL is salty and they're trying to send subliminal messages to the Pats and, to a lesser degree, their fans. They could have at least put Kaepernick on there since he's been to a SB. Carson Palmer has not even won a playoff game!

For real tho, Carson Palmer?! Fo real?!

Too many ex-jets working in the front office. I read over at patriotsplanet that the guy who runs the league's social media is a big Jets fan. The entire league office is polluted by the Jets. Talk about an unfair advantage. There certainly is NO INTEGRITY in that office.

This is why, if they had any self-awareness at all, they'd consider moving the league office to someplace that doesn't have an NFL team. Hell, NJ is right down the road! (That's a joke son, that's a joke.)

Believe it or not, the NFL constitution actually states that league HQ needs to be in or very close to a city with an NFL team. I think it's holdover language from the old days (pre-WWII) where the league was struggling and needed the League office for PR more than anything.

They still need PR but we're seeing the downsides of this policy now. Would actually make sense to have offices in LA at the moment - no team to pollute office affairs, but still a major media center so the PR work can be effectively done.

Brilliant! I nominate Puerto Rico as a great spot for the PR firm!

I think it is impossible to argue that the NFL is not biased against Tom Brady.
Clearly this extends from Goodell to the teams that consistently put out obnoxious, petty notes like this, and the Quarterback PSI tweet (Precision - Strength - Intelligence) from the spring.

Do we really need this small-minded, blatantly-biased group showing how their feelings got hurt?
Do we not deserve leadership that can act with principle and competence?

The NFL finds new ways to be embarrassing on a daily basis.
For God's sakes, gentlemen, grow up.
