Really is frustrating. LaFell was a JAG according to people through the first few weeks last season and now it's like the offense is going to fall apart because Aaron Dobson, who played OK in that spot as a rookie will be playing there.

Ya, the WR corps is a bit weaker with LaFell out but I think Chandler as the 2nd TE and the depth at receiving RB more than make up for it.

What if McDaniels ran a formation like this at times this season.

Chandler---OL---Gronk---- Edelman

White Brady Lewis

Might not be an offense that is gonna move 80 yards in 5 plays but i'll take 10+ play chew the clock up drives all day.

I've been talking about that formation a fair bit. It's strikes me as tough to defend. If the opposition put on linebackers you pass the ball, if they keep their CBs on, you run the ball and you've also got the max-protect of two RBs if needed. It's not an every down formation but I bet it would give the Colts nightmares.

Interesting. I didn't think he'd be eligible for the practice squad and already had an accrued season.

They've liberalized the rules, maybe last year

I have to imagine it was a joke. I hope so, anyway. It made me smile.

Oddly, it is a facetious dig, but isn't that the point? To select players well enough that they are still on the roster two years later?

Why would you want players that are affordable, available and have worked in the system? What we need are big names Like Wayne, Ocho and Galloway!

I'm kidding.

What we really need to do is trade Gronk, Chandler and Easley for Megatron!

Really. so much emotion over a reserve WR. I thought we wanted depth?

I bet that there are people on this board that would trade Gronk for Megatron.

Look, he's on the PS. It's not like they are expecting him to be the #1 WR.

For PS it's kind of nice to have someone who has actually caught multiple passes in real pressure situations from Brady.

How many other teams have a WR on their PS who has been in the trenches with their starting QB????

Perspective counts on this. Getting him on the PS is good insurance. Any better WRs with real game experience with Brady available?

Yes

This signing makes a ton of sense. He already knows the play book and has had experience working with Brady.

My only concern is why he didn't last with the Raiders (one of the worst teams in the league) and whether he's already reached his ceiling.

He's not very good, but neither are 99% of PS players.

Young guy, familiar with the offense, a bit of potential, will probably never amount to anything.

Sounds like a reasonable use of a PS spot to me.

KT > Wayne

That was a great play...and Sean pulling out his Church Lady ...

Yes! Welcome back bro. I can end my bring back KT hunger fast now!

Makes sense to me. Your fifth WR isn't super likely to be game-day active anyway. This way you keep Edelman, Amendola, Dobson and Harper on the field, and in an emergency where one gets hurt, you can immediately swap in KT the next week. I feel okay about the WR situation for the next 6 weeks til LaFell returns.
