OT: Kam Chancellor possibly on the trading block

Would be great if the LoB gets broken up. SEA is the only team that scares me.

Ninkovich and a 6th?
Tavon Wilson and a 4th?

Not sure I'd be a fan of either trade, just throwing ideas out there.

Yes very interested but unable to meet his contract demands.

One player? Solder...even then I dunna know.

Him and McCourty? Yikes. What to give though, and would Pete trade him to NE? If BB hasn't been screwed out of a 1st, I could see a 2nd or 3rd for Kam. Then again, a lot of this years class has made the roster so far so who knows.

I'd roll that die.

My first rule of team-building is not to pay for a guy twice. If a player costs significant trade assets and then a huge contract, I don't want him unless he's a franchise QB or JJ Watt.

It doesn't seem like he is asking for a lot more money than the 4/$28 he signed for, more of a guarantee of the contract

What appears to be one of the main sticking points for Chancellor is that he has earned all of the guaranteed money in his contract (or would if he plays this season) and that his cap number rises markedly the next two years (to $6.1 million in 2016 and $8.1 million in 2017). The amount of cap hit the Seahawks would take for cutting him decreases (to $2 million in 2016 and $1 million in 2017). In essence, the team could fairly easily release him after this season if it desired, something the Seahawks have done with players such as Red Bryant and Chris Clemons.

Chancellor, according to various reports, would at least like the team to guarantee some of his future base salaries, apparently as a hedge against being released and to give him security beyond this season.

Pay through the nose for a SS who isn't particularly good in coverage and has been fortunate to play in the best secondary in the NFL? No thanks.
That's exactly why I'll be checking in on Byron Maxwell who signed as a FA for the Eagles. He was decent as CB But now, with the Eagles, he'll be considered the man.

Would cost us more than other teams because of who we are. Would love him, but not plausible IMO because of the money and the needed draft pick compensation going into a draft without a 1st round pick.

this will be get exposed in a different system.
this generations roy williams.

He'd be quite pricey. We don't have the cap space as it is.

Pretty unlikely he gets traded. Seattle would prefer to have him sit out the entire season than to trade him, they'd rather take the hit making an example of how it hurts to hold out.

In the end Kam should fold, it would make zero sense from his side to sit out the year and cost him millions for the sake of a minor pay raise.

I'd give Pete Carroll a chance at a joint practice to recreate 2nd and goal and run it.
