Come on, man. That "game" is an 80+ hour a week job with extremely high mental and physical demands.

Agreed, sure it's just a game but it's also a damn hard job for these guys.

Losing Wayne doesn't bother me a bit. Also think Lafell being out for a few weeks, forcing Dobson to step up, might not be the worst thing in the world.

Yeah, that's the positive spin I'm putting on it too. It's definitely not ideal, but if there's ever a good time to be short a receiver it's early in the season before guys start getting hurt. And LaFell will be waiting in the wings to supplement their depth against the expectation that someone presumably gets hurt at some point.

I'm not high on Dobson, but it looks like he'll get his chance to prove me and all the other doubters wrong. Hope he does.

Yeah, that's the real bummer to me. He ran good routes, has great hands, and got decently open. No doubt in my mind he could have contributed. But if he can't handle the mental aspect of playing on a tough, accountable team then I guess he wasn't going to make it anyway.
I don't think he was getting open much, and he dropped a couple of passes. I thought Harper looked better, and Dobson looked faster, and they are both cheaper. I think Wayne wasn't going to make this roster.

You have to love how all these veterans come to New England and say how hard it is. And then people wonder why the Patriots win and insist it must be due to cheating and bending rules. Smh.

It is pretty telling. The Pats win because they outwork and out-innovate everyone else. That's all there is to it, and that's what people in general claim to respect and admire as qualities.

But in practice it just makes people jealous and bitter, so they complain and accuse the pats of cheating because it's easier to try to bring others down than raise yourself up. These are the values that people actually hold.

We're all engaging in a bit of schadenfreude here, but I think your last sentence see's directly to the heart of the matter.
Yea who knows. I'm just trying to rationalize it and create a sensible story that seems to fit with what was reported

Too bad. I really thought he could contribute here.

No, thanks.

Do a little 2+2. Take a look at the WR depth and tell me that you think a season ending injury won't have serious ramifications.

And all of these guys have had injury problems.

Thompkins isn't the answer at all, but maybe someone like James Jones could be eased in and contribute.

Jones quietly had a career high 73 receptions last year with Oakland. Interesting option at WR

Congratulations, once again, Reggie, for being a 'participant' on the Patriots' field. Good to know belichick is still tough enough to weed out the ****ies.

Do we have to pay the loser any $?

Definitely a scare thought with Edelman, Dola, and Gronk so injury prone. I wish I had as much faith in Dobson as others do. Seems like it's more than a foot injury that caused him to regress.

I would absolutely approve of Jones signing here; Bill should've signed him last year.

I would be surprised, however, if he didn't sign with Green Bay.

Therefore, I would approve of the return of KT.

Take a look at his yards per, though.

Which team has an extra WR and a shortage of DE's ??

Kenbrell kinda stinks, and I'd have to imagine James Jones gets a call from the Packers. How about a flyer on Hakim Nicks? He just got just by the Titans.

Dude, I don't know if I've read another post, mine included, better than this one. I mean, for crying out loud?! And the rest of the country marches forward to the beat of deflated footballs . . .
