So I recently discovered this free image server, postimage.org. You upload a picture from your computer to postimage.org and it gives you a url link, the one with the .jpg suffix, that you can then paste into the image tool on this forum. There's even an option to resize the image to optimum forum size. I don't know how long the image is retained on the server.

Hope this is useful.

Thanks. However, I can upload images direct to the forum so I'm not sure what the advantage would be. Now find me a way of embedding vines in this forum and I'll be forever indebted.

imgur.com is more popular. Or gfycat.com if you're uploading a gif.

How do you do that?

Look at the create post dialogue below and you'll see an "Upload A File" tab. click on it and it'll ask you the location of the file. It's about as simple as that. It tends to not allow files that are too big though (I had a problem with a .PNG once) but I use it a fair bit for screenshots.

Thanks, I never realized that applied to pictures. One advantage to postimage.org (and probably the others listed above) is that it will resize the image, offering several size options.

Good point.

Yeah, I found that postimage sight a while ago. No frills, just right. I had a photobucket account and they changed and added so many gimmicks, I couldn't get picture links, which is all I wanted.

Ditto on the vine thing, by the way. those things are great, but is there a way to embed them on forums?

Not that I've found. Considering how much football related video on twitter is Vine based, it would be a great addition.

Just get a free photobucket account and upload and edit pictures there. Lots of free storage and available anytime anywhere!

I use TinyPic. It also resizes images as well as you can upload videos (though, I haven't used that feature). And if you have a free account you can upload 5 images at one time.

You can also upload an image directly from an internet link which is a nice feature.

I use imgur for everything. With the ShareX app on your computer, you can screencap, upload, and copy the image link in one click.

I use ShareX to make gifs too. Great program.

Any suggestions for a Mac? ShareX is Windows only. I tried Jing and img.urls but they have limited or no resizing options.
