As much as a Nerd Nerdelson can be [is that right Fitzy?].

He's on the pregame with Burton and is freaking pumped up. As a BSPN employee getting his blog hijacked, I can imagine the pressure.

He's hung in there and even spoken some truth to power. You go Mike, it's away with the ******** and time for football!

Haven't heard from Curran and Chatham deserves a big pat on the back too.

Good thread .... agree.

I read the thread title as "Mike Reiss/ Kiss ass". Glad I was wrong.

I feel for Reiss. He built himself, took a calculated risk that made sense at the time, continued to work hard and remain classy - only to have his blog taken hostage and ravaged to the point he was once my go-to-source and is anything but now...

It's only a matter of time before Mt Chatham erupts.

Reiss is a pro. He's come out of this with his credibility intact and his professionalism superceeding 99.9% of his fellow employees.

His professional title, "Staff Writer" is an insult and degrading for someone with his credentials and experience.

Reiss, Curran, and Howe were always spot-on during this whole debacle. Really hope Reiss gets an opportunity to leave that **** hole; I can't even find his articles half the time anymore because it's buried under an avalanche of garbage.

And where could he go? The Globe is a cesspool.

Howe was very good. i think i was critical earlier [not sure] he was very good.

No kidding. Poor Reiss is in the freaking Living &Arts section of ESPNBoston.

One thing I remember from back in January is that Howe immediately called it a much-ado about nothing. Even when everyone freaked out from the Mort story he didn't care.

I don't get it. Isn't it in your power to just skip over the stuff that isn't Reiss? That's what I do. Seems like cutting off your nose to spite your face. Or something.

I agree. I read his articles and follow him on Tweeter. And I enjoyed seeing him take an (understated) victory tour on ESPN today.

I think it's just people not wanting to give ESPN.com traffic.

In this case, though, uBlock Origin is your friend. Whitelist the sites that you like (like Patsfans, so they can make some money off of you), blacklist crap sites like ESPN.com (so they don't get to serve ads against your traffic, because **** them).

But even still, I made a habit out of avoiding espn.com for the past 9 months or so. Because to hell with them, more principle than practical.

Sorry Reiss was great and I'll jump right back on his bandwagon if he leaves ESPN. But IMO anything he says now on this subject is mute to me he should have been at the top of the mountain screaming about the hypocrisy instead he mostly stood to the side of the biggest story since OJ. Solid journalism guy.

Sorry if I feel that was the moment we needed good journalism the most.
