Judge Berman put it writing:

"This locked him into supporting the Wells Report and rendered him incapable of reaching a contrary conclusion in Brady's appeal, as doing so would undermine his own COMPETENCY
as Commissioner."
Id.
1[167.

Kraft knows he can't sue. Kraft has chosen a different battlefield. He is attacking Goodell's subordinates and the Lawyers advice to Goodell. He is not a lawyer and relies on them for legal advice. Goodell's lawyers have run up lawyers fees to the NFL approaching the value of some franchises like the Jaquars, in the failed 0 for 6 legal actions, that they have lost.

Kraft is saying, "Why are we allowing it? It's time to clean house." Once Pash et al. are fired, and then you can attack Goodell on the basis of his incompetency as Commissioner, in employing, self serving fools like Pash and Wells. Let's stop wasting money on Lawyers, and cease looking like fools. A Vote of Confidence could then be called at an Owner's meeting.

Ah so he left his HOF QB out to dry in Deflategate and his HOF head coach out to dry in Spygate for this reason alone? Is this also the reason why he won't attack or mention Goodell by name during public speaking engagements specifically related to Deflategate? Yeah, sorry. Not buying it.

I'd like it to be true, but until Kraft demonstrates otherwise I'm going to continue operating under the understanding that he doesn't want to attack the NFL because "the 32" are more important to him than his organization, its QB, its coach, and its fans.

Now that Brady has won, it smells disingenuous for Kraft to go on "attack mode". He had no idea if Brady would win and he did little to aid TB's cause along the way.

The Kraft apologists never cease to amaze me with their fantasies in which Kraft is playing fifth dimensional chess in his schemes to eliminate Goodell. Lets face it Kraft is a pacifist with a blind spot about Goodell which will never change no matter how many times the Pats get screwed. I just hope that Jonathan has what is obviously lacking in his father when he takes over the team.

Kraft is saying, "Why are we allowing it? It's time to clean house."

Yes, obviously.

He's saying this by accepting the loss of a 1st and 4th round draft pick, a million-dollar fine for absolutely nothing - then doubling down by promising not to appeal - then doubling down twice more by not saying a single negative word toward the Commissioner - who is responsible for this entire thing.

Kraft is a suck-up to the league and the ownership and doesn't give a single **** about his coaches, players or fans. I don't understand why this is such a difficult concept for folks like yourself to understand.

Kraft STILL has not said word one against Goodell - and his only actual actions throughout, have been to roll over and take it from Goodell without a fight.

Those are the facts. Until he actually DOES something, the contention that Kraft is some sort of mastermind here is one of the most laughable things I've ever read.

It wasn't until the League Front office was discreditd and Brady won, that Kraft could open his attack.

Now the League imposed penalties are as stupid and jugheaded as the infamous Tea Pot dome punishments imposed on Judge Crater for accepting Bribes. But even at the same time, the guy who supposedly accused of giving the Bribes was aquited of ever giving them.

LOL.

So it's the lawyers spending/wasting all that League money that has him pissed off...got it.

We're on to London.

1. Kraft is not a fighter. He hates/fears confrontation
2. Kraft is naive and has absolutely no idea how much his franchise is despised. The concept of others being so jealous of his success that they'd want to take him down is apparently foreign to him. It's mind boggling that he doesn't understand how his team is perceived, and how that perception drives the actions of the other owners and their puppet on Park Ave.

That's a little overstated -- Kraft isn't quite as soft as you're suggesting -- but directionally I agree with you.

That said -- the league has a new COO, and it should be expected that he'll do some housecleaning. (See also the Andrew Brandt article about that.) Pash is the most obvious candidate, since the COO coming in was sort of a demotion for Pash, because Pash is an obvious fall guy for the legal debacles and, yes, to a small extent because Pash is squarely in Kraft's crosshairs.

Uh, no Kraft should have fought in any he could including a lawsuit. Instead while he talked tough a couple of times his basic action was to role over like a little puppy and ask to have his tummy rubbed. And his action in accepting a drastic penalty with barely a whimper helped cement in the minds of most of NFL fandom that the Patriots must have done something drastic. It's been lose lose for Kraft.

I thought it was really weak that Kraft didn't call out Goodell by name and they waited for Berman to rule to say "no Brady no banner." I forgave him for his capitulation because he owned his mistake but if he ever buddies up with Goodell again there will be no going back.

Now that there is a tidal wave of momentum against the corrupt regime, Kraft should be channelling all energy to removing Goodell and his cronies and retrieving his draft picks--including harnessing public opinion and the media to restore credibility and respect to the league. Instead, he once again backs down spectacularly and defers to the evil power monger. He was wrong before and he is doubly wrong now.
