But for real... I've always thought to myself about the Patriots trading for Gordon. Especially at the current moment with his stock at an all time low due to his 1 year suspension. I feel like Cleveland would take Dobson + a 5th or 6th. Or perhaps just a 4th rounder (reminiscent of the Randy Moss trade). They could probably sign him to a relatively cheap 1-2 year "prove-it" deal.

I don't think weed should be punishable at all but until the rule changes he is a huge liability and cannot be trusted.

I think his last suspension was for drinking alcohol.

I was very much so in the No thanks group, but then I read his post about what happened, what he was busted for, and why he was suspended again before the season officially ended last year, and i cant help but think that him with the right people around him, could totally turn his life around, get off the weed, and make smarter choices.

I'd love to see him come in as a low risk trade.

it was, he had a drink on a flight after the browns lost their final game, mind you this wasn't on the team plane. apparently he thought the browns last game was teh end of the season, and wasn't supposed to drink till the league year ended.

Flip a 6th to the Browns for him.

Couldn't help myself......

It's odd that this came up here now. I just got off the phone with my friend the Browns fan/Belichick hater and I brought up the idiocy of losing the talent of a guy like Gordon over weed. And from what I heard his first offense was before he played in the NFL. If that's true it's even more ridiculous.

He is elite talent. He owned Talib in that game in 2013.

If BB is willing to bring in guys like Albert Haynesworth, he'll bring in a Flash Gordon.

I'd probably trade a conditional 7th rounder (based on playing time) just to stash him on the suspended list until he's available. But you just can't rely on the guy as long as he's subject to suspension for **** like weed and booze.

Good idea. I'll phone it to Bill after I get out of work. Will give you an update later tonight.

I wanted him before.
I'd take him now.

Kraft might be too principled for it, though.

I will give the Browns the Patriots highest first founder in 2016, or a sixth it they would rather have that.

If this Brady ruling snowballs into some real, tangible change to the NFL's discipline procedures, I would take Gordon in a heartbeat. As it is, I'm hesitant to invest any time/money into a player that could get arbitrarily suspended for a year at any moment. Still, I suppose if the price is right, there's minimal risk.

Gordon is an elite talent yes, but has a 10 cent head. I don't trust him not to get suspended again in the future. For a conditional 7th round pick, based on him not getting suspended, ok I could see that risk being worthwhile. But I don't think the Browns would do that so it's just not going to happen.
