Guys
Whoever is going to the game next thursday, we still need some anti goodell chants ..in fact a lot of them.

"Goodell's reliance on notice of broad CBA "conduct detrimental" policy- as opposed to specific Player Policies regarding equipment violations- to impose discipline upon Brady is legally misplaced."

We need to educate people now about what has really happened in this case. Cut and paste this into your twitter, FB, and LinkedIn:
- NFL executed sting operation at AFCCG vs warning Pats about Colts complaints
- NFL showed no knowledge of Ideal Gas Law and thought immediately all balls were under inflated vs understanding weather matters
- NFL has no procedures for measuring inflation consistently including temperature
- NFL leaked incorrect info that 11 out of 12 balls were at least 2 lbs underinflated which was NOT true and did not correct for months which affected public opinion despite Pats requests
- Even Wells report says that Pats footballs were off Ideal Gas law by .2 lbs, and guesses that attendant may have done this in 90 seconds in a bathroom to a dozen footballs
- Wells report ignored direct testimony of all involved saying they did not do it
- Wells stitched together texts across 18 months to tell a story in a certain order
- Wells report was paid for and edited by NFL before release but then called "independent"
- Wells report made no attempt to investigate NFL leaks and operations
- NFL lawyer who edited Wells report was not made available for cross examination
- Wells report include now-proven fabicated science from discredited Exponent company that would never have been admissable
- Independent science reports state that Pats footballs were exactly at right pressure and that Colts footballs were too high (likely due to sitting in warm locker room longer)
- Wells report concluded "more probable than not" that Brady was aware
- Goodell appeal changed that ruling to Brady orchestrated a scheme (!) which is illegal for an arbirtrator to do, and also indicates clear agenda
- Previous equipment violations involving footballs have either had no penalty or fine
- Brady was given no notice that not turning over cell phone was a grounds for punishment; no one has turned over cell phone before
- No team or player has ever received such a harsh penalty
- The entire DeflateGate incident has taken 7 months
- ESPN has repeatedly reported incorrectly that the the Pats taped the Rams walkthrough before Super Bowl (was proven to be incorrect) and has released continuous unsubstantiated reports about DeflateGate which have all been NFL-sided
- ESPN apologized for its SpyGate reporting at 1230am once on the air
- Much of the NFL staff are former Jets staff -- eg Goodell, Kinsell

A week from tonight we will raise a banner in Gillette and watch Brady.

He'd never say it, but I would love for someone to say, "I understand Judge Berman ruled on the process and while there are questions on the innocence of Tom Brady and the alleged deflation scandal, Tom Brady would welcome a "real" independent investigation to the NFLs actions and his actions and for that information to be made available via a public hearing."

Never happen, but why not challenge the NFL to let's get it all out in the open and transparent.
This is my post to the NYT comments section responding to someone who stated that Brady got off on a technicality and quoting the NFL constitution:

raduray
Worcester

"The NFL constitution has no legal standing. The CBA does. And notwithstanding Article 46 of the CBA, the CBA is superseded by US Labor Laws which require the essence of fundamental fairness.

And for those who argue that Brady got off on a technicality, the court was not allowed to re-litigate the evidence, no matter how much Brady and all NE fans would have liked. Because any rational review of the Wells investigation would have debunked it."

You know... I kinda wanted to see Jimmy G tho. I really thought he would take us to 3-1. Would have been pretty cool for him

**** Goodell and the NFL offices!

Zero games.

Brady is the GOAT.

Won't the NFL's appeal involve discovery? Are those investigation documents going to see the light of day? If that happens, how much more hanky-panky and manipulation of evidence do you suppose is yet to come out? That's what Tedy's hoping for!!

We're all sick of this, but it seems to me the NFL could bring even more abuse on itself by appealing. For their own good, they ought to let this one die a quiet death. Maybe they drop their appeal down the road when fans are focused elsewhere.

Awesome WIN for Brady!!

I read Berman's decision. It's a masterpiece that completely tears apart the NFL and Goodell's position.

Berman was very careful in selecting the grounds of his decision and I feel it will be very difficult to overturn.

And finally -- SUCK IT NFL!! FIRE GOODELL!!!

:D;):):p:cool:

Suspension Negated:Tom Brady Wins...

Remember when the media was saying Goodell didn't mind losing in court because all he had to do is go to the owners and say "Hey, I am tried to punish him, but the courts overturned me on a technicality"? Now you have those same people trashing Goodell and saying how horrible this loss is for Goodell.

Don't mean to rain on everyone's parade but there is one thing to consider going forward. Pats have to be like Caesar's wife, "above reproach" because you know the league will be gunning for them looking for even the smallest misstep....
I just hope that Jonathon Kraft has the stones enough to say to the league when it inevitably comes looking for blood," bring it on b*tches. I've got Kessler on speed dial."

Great caller on Felger and Mazz.. Ripped them on about 5 separate issues.

ESPN talking heads are trying to figure out the cost and do damage control for the league right now, rationalizing what this actually "costs" the league.

Not that I matter in the grand scheme but Deflategate did huge damage to both ESPN and the NFL in my mind. The longer this went on, the more I realized how crooked this era of the NFL was and how bought and paid for ESPN coverage of this made up scandal actually was. Finding out how Schefter and Mort were completely bought and paid for by the league and the actual source behind the leaks made me question their integrity. Bill Simmons getting suspended (and probably ultimately let go/not renewed) due to even questioning Roger Goodell publicly. Lester Munson has lost all credibility in my mind right now. He's just a shill, not an analyst, a complete and total shill.

Then it made me look at the other scandals. I didn't know a lot about Bountygate because for the most part I didn't care all that much. But the more I'd read about Deflategate, the more people would bring up Bountygate and how evidence was trumped up, how the league's rationalization and how the league got the games where players were supposedly injured wrong. I just realized how big a sham the NFL's discipline is. I can't see how anyone can take the NFL's side on anything right now. Even if you hate the Patriots, what happens when the Ginger Hammer takes aim at your team? There are 2 fanbases right now who are 100% convinced the league is out to get them and THEY'RE RIGHT.

But you know what the worst part is? This whole thing made me root for the Patriots and Tom ****ing Brady who ruined my goddamn life 15 years ago. It's not the snow game, it's the tuck rule game. **** me, I just cheered that Tom ****ing Brady won something, but I HAD to because he was right.

God **** the NFL and ESPN.

That's what they've been doing post-Spygate and look what it got them. Until BB and TB both retire or move on that's the way it's going to be.
