Brady Wins! BBBBRRRRRRAAAADDDDDYYYYYYY WINS!

Anyone else thinking about getting this part of the decision put on a poster and mailed to Goodell???

"Based upon the foregoing and applicable legal authorities, the Court hereby denies the Management Council's motion to confirm the Award and grants the Players Association's motion to vacate the Award, thereby vacating the lour-game suspension of Tom Brady, effective immediately."

Heck, if I knew how, I'd get this put on a large banner and hung outside the NFL offices..

I hate to be a wet blanket, BUT, I'm currently watching the NFLN's reporting on the breaking news, and the 2 items that I'm not hearing is, "clearly Brady and the Pats didn't do anything in the first place", and "the League's malicious prosecution was one of the key reasons for the win."

Basically all I'm hearing is Rappaport telling us that this is all about the issues with the policies and procedure (Pash not being available) (files not being available) (no prior notice) etc. Others are talking about the importance of what it means to the NFLPA. But NO one has had the guts to just say that the Pats didn't do anything and its all coming out. So as of this moment its, "Breaking news, Brady beat the rap". Even in the Judge's comments he says that no player probably knew about any deflation, BUT he doesn't say its unlikely anything happened at all. In fact with the words I saw, he IMPLIES, that something actually did, but just Brady can't be proven to know about it.

Now maybe I'm being too invested in the concept that this has to go to a defamation case for the NFL to get fully exposed. This IS great news, but only as far as it goes. It solves the immediate problem, but not the long term one about Tom's legacy and the Pats as serial cheaters.
Because everything is dependent on the CBA, that is where the Judge focused his review of the case. He didn't even look into whether two Pats employees tampered with the balls. He basically said that even if he accepted that as true, Goodell could not do what he did to Brady and went way out-of-bounds on many levels. I don't think Brady is going to bring a defamation suit. I think in another section of the CBA it says he can't. We'll just have to defend Brady using the Judge's very detailed opinion, which basically says in fancy legal terms that the NFL conducted a self-serving, biased witch hunt on an equipment violation which even if true, merited a fine of $5,125.00.

I'm switching between radio, ESPN and the NFL Network, and regardless of whether the personalities love the outcome or hate the outcome, they are all universally blasting goodell as totally fing this up.

They also think that goodell probably survives this but is going to have to do some housekeeping with some of his underlings

Mike Kensil? This is Roger, come to my office.

And bring your playbook.

Owners are barred from doing so, but players are not, although the legal hurdles are high.

NFLN still beating the drum about "non-cooperation." Idiots.

I had to bring a family member in for a doctor's appointment. I saw the news about 30 seconds after Schefter's tweet, and my first reaction was basically "@#$#@%#$%$#%$# Berman! You couldn't wait until after noon?"
You know these Federal Judges in New York...they just do whatever they want, whenever they want....the case should have been in MN or MA all along...

You'll hear all about how Brady won because of "procedure", or a "technicality". What will be ignored by those stating such things is that the state of current U.S. law regarding arbitration rulings is such that you literally cannot win an appeal on just the facts.

Michael Silver is going to be taken off Brady's Christmas card list. He always wanted us to know he was in tight with "Tommy", but he is smearing him on the NFL Network right now.

Whats he saying?

He couldn't. By law, he can only judge the "process" and not the underlying facts. He shot the process to hell and wrote that he didn't even consider some of Brady's other claims because he won on the earlier ones, notice etc...

his frequent use of phrases like "the allegedly deflated footballs" made his feelings pretty clear about how shaky he felt the facts were, without opening a can of worms.

The other site is swamped and can be hard to access.

Gets really good around page 21.

Maybe, but I like this on Page 7:
At the same time, the Wells Report acknowledged that "[o]ur scientific consultants informed us that the data alone did not provide a basis for them to determine with absolute certainty whether there was or was not tampering, as the analysis of such data is ultimately dependent upon assumptions and information that is uncertain."

From the comments on ESPN and NFLN from people with league office connections, it sounds like Pash is the designated fall guy.

Rosevelt Colvin's prediction...

God HELP any hapless receiver running the wrong route or dropping Brady's passes this season!

i disagree that peter king should be hated. he was with us 95% of the way.

What a ****ing embarrassment Roger Goodell is. I just read that he universal support from the NFL owners, well that proves you don't have to be smart to be rich.

Time to get onto Brady vs the NFL version 2.0.

Rich Eisen is all hyped up on his show (NFL Now). He must be a Brady fan via the Wolverines.

I have to think the NFL will appeal this because this is such a horrible precedent for them. Of course, if they appeal and lose that's even worse...

Great day...great day...so much stuff to say..so many tweets to retweet...so many jokes to be made...some draft picks to get back...but RIGHT NOW...this is awesome.

Thanks to the judge, a real justice system, and all the great posters here at Patsfans and all pats fans everywhere. We've been through such a crazy, ridiculous, drama filled ride. Nice to see something go our way.

I like this tweet:

trey wingo @wingoz

with Brady's suspension lifted.. I'm changing my prediction for the AFC East from "Patriots win division".. to "Patriots destroy division" 3m

haha!!
