Only problem for us is that Berman refused to comment on the NFLPA claims about the facts of the case. He never defended the Wells report, he just said that he accepted it because he had to as a consequence of arbitration. It would have been nice for him to tell the league/public that their investigation was a farce. I'm sure he didn't because it would have made the decision more vulnerable to appeal.

Don't get me wrong, I'll take it, but it definitely leaves room for people to claim Brady got off on a technicality but still cheated. Not that anything would have stopped that though, really.

As I just posted, Berman couldn't rule on the facts of the case, only the process.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but there is one bad thing in the ruling - Berman did not agree that Goodell was evidently partial.

Otherwise, Brady won on pretty much every count.

I hate to be a wet blanket, BUT, I'm currently watching the NFLN's reporting on the breaking news, and the 2 items that I'm not hearing is, "clearly Brady and the Pats didn't do anything in the first place", and "the League's malicious prosecution was one of the key reasons for the win."

Basically all I'm hearing is Rappaport telling us that this is all about the issues with the policies and procedure (Pash not being available) (files not being available) (no prior notice) etc. Others are talking about the importance of what it means to the NFLPA. But NO one has had the guts to just say that the Pats didn't do anything and its all coming out. So as of this moment its, "Breaking news, Brady beat the rap". Even in the Judge's comments he says that no player probably knew about any deflation, BUT he doesn't say its unlikely anything happened at all. In fact with the words I saw, he IMPLIES, that something actually did, but just Brady can't be proven to know about it.

Now maybe I'm being too invested in the concept that this has to go to a defamation case for the NFL to get fully exposed. This IS great news, but only as far as it goes. It solves the immediate problem, but not the long term one about Tom's legacy and the Pats as serial cheaters.

That was always going to be the NFL spin, BUT they have lost control of the narrative.

All the avg fan nationally will hear is Goodell wrong, Brady right.

IMO the owners will tell Goodell not to appeal, this is making them look bad they want this off the news.

Ha now Sharpe is saying with disgust how the Oatriots are the favorites in the AFC :D

Eh. Merloni and Fauria are giving him a pretty hard time. Not to mention the callers. Pretty funny.

I hear you, but Tanger is a no-go for me. I'd turn down a roll in the hay with 80's Paulina Porizkova if I had to listen to Tanguay's voice the whole time.

Berman didn't just rule for Brady he completely destroyed the NFL and rules for Brady right down the line. Despite Cossacks crying it will be really difficult to get the CA to overturn as they would have to overturn every aspect of Berman's finding.

Suck that haters!!!!!!!!!

Number 5 is on the way!

Well yeah, how did you think the NFL network was going to spin it? "BREAKING NEWS: we're totally ****ing incompetent!"?

They have to act like Brady got off on a technicality, because that's the best possible spin for the NFL.

Goodell could be f***ed. Berman took him behind the woodshed. "Dispensed his own brand of industrial justice", that's rough.

Anyone have a link to the full 40 pages yet? I'm dying to read it.

So freaking proud of TFB — and this board.Wasn't that long ago when all seemed lost, and people here defending Brady were derided as a bunch of footy-pajama homers who couldn't face reality.

Great comeback win ever.

..well, that would have been nice.

the NFLN will never admit that the NFL got it wrong
Yeah, I understand they sorta have a vested interest in being unfair, and they have to walk the line. I suspect the same thing is going on at BSPN.

I'm still just so PISSED, and one quickie by Berman, doesn't make up for 8 months of blue balls (am I being too graphic? ;) ). I guess it amounts to not being willing to have Tom declared "not guilty". I want him declared INNOCENT. I want the Pats to be declared INNOCENT and it looks like I'm going to have to be more patient for that to happen
