Every great story has heroes and villains. Deflategate is no exception.

From a Pats' perspective, here are the villains. Feel free to add to the list.

Goodell - Caught in lies and a massive power play. His rulings have been consistently overruled by independent arbiters and judges. Still reeling from the Ray Rice scandal where he was again caught in lies. Seeking to be the undisputed dictator of the NFL, and willing to throw the greatest player of all time under the bus in order to achieve this.

Vincent - Former player, turned traitor. Disingenuous. Goodell's lackey and right hand man.

Pash - Attorney for the NFL who edited the Wells Report.

Wells - Supposed "independent" investigator, he twisted the facts and ignored the evidence which exonerated the Pats and Brady.

Kensil - Former Jet employee, he has had an axe to grind against the Patriots for a long time. Having no clue about the Ideal Gas Law, when the Pats' football the Colts intercepted was measured (a violation of the rules, for which there was no penalty or investigation, btw), he approached the Patriots and told them they were in big F-ing trouble.

John Harbaugh - Suffered a bitter defeat to the Pats in the AFC Divisional round, he was humiliated by the Patriots' creative formations, and his ego was stung when Brady said that he needed to know the rulebook better. He communicated with former assistant and present Colts' HC Chuck Pagano, telling him about under inflated footballs by the Pats.

Walt Anderson - Referee in charge of the AFCCG. He did a terrible job, not recording the measurements, losing track of the footballs, and is totally skating in this whole episode.

Cris Carter - Hall of Famer, critical of Brady, saying Brady needed to accept responsibility for his actions. Turns out he told NFL rookies that they needed a "fall guy" to take the blame for when they break the law.

Jerry Rice - Hall of Famer, critical of Brady, saying that he cheated and that it's no excuse to say that "everybody does it". Turns out he used stickum as a player, which violated the rules, and when that came to light, he first defended himself saying, everyone did it.

Who else?

Gardi has to be on the list. Mortenson, King.

The K ball thieves.

Mort and King spread the -2psi lie that caused the story to explode, their false reports sett the narrative for the frame job of the Pats. Gardi wrote the letter to the Patriots with false PSI information, and informed them they were presumed guilty. This caused confusion and distraction for the team leading up to the SB.

Thanks. And Grigson?

I want you guys to add to the list, but as you do, remind people of what these guys did.
Grigson is Colts GM who almost certainly passed the early sting info up the chain to his owner, Irsay, who then passed it on to 'reporter' Kravitz to make public. Probably, along with Pagano, one of the contacts with Harbaugh.

I would put Pash on top. He is the one who directly denied the Pat's appeal to correct ****'s false 11/12, 2 PSI report. He's also the guy being protected most by the NFL. Considering that Goodell's lies put him directly in the crosshairs, the extreme protection of Pash, given his lead role in the investigation, makes me believe that he is the "man behind the curtain". In the phrase "man behind the curtain", "man" isn't being used loosely, it's being used incorrectly.

Bob Kraft. Sorry, even if all he could do was bluster, by caving he left Brady twisting in the wind and left the other owners with air cover to support Goodell until the last dog died.

Mort to the nth power.

Peter King with an asterisk for his apology.

Every active player in the NFL who sat back while Brady fought for their right not to be falsely accused and then tried, convicted and executed by a Kangaroo Court. Props to Antonio Cromartie and anyone else who stuck their neck out to defend him!

Throw in Pagano and Harbaugh. While its not totally proven, they are mixed up in this somehow.

basically any douchebag, who even after all the facts and (lack of) evidence has been published, released and dissected, who still claims Brady & The Patriots cheated.

I remove the asterisk due to his last MMQB comments Monday where he claims his sources believed the 2psi meme. He also is softening on the NFL fo, to keep access one guesses.

Yeah. Just how corrupt is this guy, anyway? He sucks up to the League for access and then he gets access to players who don't want to offend him because he has a coveted vote to control entry to Canton.

Dean Blandino - Claimed the league knew nothing about claims that the Pats were deflating footballs prior to the game, and only learned about it at halftime. This is in direct conflict with an email circulated before the game that he was a recipient of.

Just hope the name Berman doesn't go onto this list

No matter how he rules, Berman does not belong on this list. He is the one who shined a spotlight on the injustice of what the NFL had done. Now, it is his job to rule on the legality of the NFL's actions within the context of a CBA to which the NFLPA agreed. Those are possibly, but not necessarily, related.

So many crooks forgot about some completely missed not mentioning Blandino, hid lie covered up the sting aspect of the operation and allowed the Jackson noticed something odd lie.
