Who do you cut for this guy? I think we are already going to cut a few dl who end up with jobs elsewhere. If he was worth picking up (for us) he probably wouldn't have list his job...
Plenty of good players have been released during their careers. Taylor's expressly a 2 down run stuffer. Sure, he's had some injury problems but when he's good, he's very darn good.

If the Colts had half a brain, they'd be all over this.

Can he cover a slot receiver?

Can he cover a slot receiver?
No but he can probably eat one.

On a serious note, I've been reading up on Taylor but if his knee is ok am unsure if he represents an upgrade over Alan Branch. Thoughts?

Taylor or Branch? Might depend on who would cost less, and how healthy Taylor really is.
A healthy Taylor at the same cap commitment > Branch.

I thought that I read that Taylor was released with an injury settlement..

do u have a link?

no need, thnx for sharing info

The defensive line position is one that I am pretty confident in, I think we stay put with what we have.
I agree the DL appears solid, however, Taylor could be an upgrade over Branch. He had huge upside entering the NFL and has been limited by injuries. I hope we kick the tires.

Agreed. I'm guessing the poster feels that way due to needing a big body such as Brown and Siliga.

Either way, Branch isn't exactly a sure thing no matter how you look at it.
I'm not sure if Brown is best playing NT in a 3-4 front, he maybe better suited playing a 3 or 5 technique.
