Boston Mag: NFL wins no matter what because of lost picks

So many of you foolishly talk like Bob Kraft had any control of whether or not the Patriots would ever retain these draft picks. Come on, you're smarter than that. You know that Goodell had decided that draft picks were gone regardless. Put the blame for the lost draft picks where it belongs.
Let me just ask you who has supported the POS that took away the draft picks since 2007 to the detriment of his team and its fans and has said that the good of the other teams is more important that his own.

I'd try to answer if it actually mattered, but it doesn't.....maybe you can do things differently when you have your NFL team

Kraft should not have buckled but people are crazy if they think the Patriots were going to somehow get them back on appeal. Like Brady nothing short of claiming they did something they didn't do and begging forgiveness from Little Lord Fauntleroy is the only way they would have seen it reduced, and that would have been the fourth becoming a fifth.

Although it can't happen I really liked Thornton's suggestion yesterday that Berman vacate the suspension then tell the NFL they can appeal it if they wish, to him.

I'm definitely going to do that.

Actually, the Patriots didn't get the results for over 2 months and then only under the stipulation that they not release them. Do you want the Patriots to lie like the NFL? Or show some integrity? You can't have it both ways.

You are quite correct that Kraft was wrong to support Goodell for all those years. Even Kraft has admitted as much.

That being said, it was totally on Goodell as to why draft picks were taken from the Patriots for totally unproven allegations of minor cheating.

Goodell has now clearly been exposed for who he is - if anyone is really listening. And yet we have owners like the Houston Texans owner that continue to misunderstand (at best) or deny what is so obvious to those of us who have studied the facts. It will take quite a bit to get rid of Goodell, probably a lot more than what has already happened. The owners are that ignorant. It's not implausible at all to think the exact same thing would have happened even if Kraft had wised up 8 years earlier in 2007.

Then maybe it's time to turn over the team to someone that hasn't supported the POS that took away the draft picks like his son.

It is an adage that if you don't stand up to a bully, you will continue to get bullied. The time to stand up to Goodell was in 2007 before the Pats' reputation was destroyed. We all know what happened. The time to get rid of Goodell as a biased and corrupt POS was during the Rice fiasco. We all know what happened. Is there any wonder that Goodell came after the Pats again because the Pats are the perfect whipping boy to get the adverse pressure of him. He had already sized up Kraft that when push came to shove Kraft would fold and Kraft didn't disappoint him. Regardless of what happens to Brady, the picks are gone. I agree with Ivan that the real target was BB and if they could have hung it on him, they would have. However, mark my words as long as pacifist Bob runs the Pats and they continue to win, the next sham violation will be on BB and they will make Bob fire him.
