This kid really has some ball skills. He will not clear waivers so that he can be added to practice squad, in my opinion. Too many teams looking for corners. Thoughts?

I agree. He's looked good the past two preseasons. Plays hard and is around the ball. Hope he makes it onto the PS as I don't see him cracking the 53.

Would be great if he is the next Butler. But, is Butler even the next Butler ? I'm much more confident in the backfield than I was this Spring, but I'll wait to see game action.

Swanson may need to be the next Butler after the Pats put Roberts on IR today. Roberts had played very well according to all I'd read and he looked good on the field the little bit we saw him. Brown/Fletcher/McClain better wake up and smell the pig leather because we NEED one of them to excel.

I'd like to keep him. Nobody is the next Butler, that's a fantasy story come to life.

Are we then thinking he might be better then McClain...or will be?

I still say keep him on the practice squad...but maybe he might surprise everyone. dunno

Ok but that was a sincere question. I really don't know which is better. I've only been keeping an eye on Butler, Fletcher and Brown.

I'd keep him ahead of McClain, but I'm sure that Bill doesn't see it the same way.

Nice little story if he makes it Swanson would have actually improved unlike Boyce. If he has a good game tomorrow night he would make their decision very tough.

I liked what I saw this past week, but Swanson looked decent last year so I'm not feeling the Butler comparison, nor am I that worried about him being claimed. I do think a 2015 Butler was on the team until yesterday, though. :(

I think it's possible he beats out McClain on the 53, but it really all depends on how they view the NB position. It's looking early on like Brown will kick inside in nickel situations, but if he goes down, or Fletcher goes down and you want to play Brown outside in nickel now, who takes that slot corner spot? If Swanson or Ryan can do that, we're okay. If they can't, we're one injury away from someone playing out of position.

They just need to be solid. For all the love people had for Browner and his physical play, he was a very average CB last year. The penalties and the statistics prove this.

Keep in mind BB didn't cut him because of a scheme change. He cut him because they didn't think he was capable of playing CB at $4m.

Time will tell is he is right.

I thought the Pats cut Browner because they couldn't reach a long term deal with him?

I hadn't heard that but there maybe some truth to that too as "pay cut" could mean a couple of different things. Less guaranteed money this year but more over a 2 year period, etc.

"This is a business, man. I wasn't disappointed at all," Browner said. "When they asked me to take a pay cut, you know, it was time to get up out of there."
