Either settlement talks have resumed or indirectly telling the parties that they still have a chance to settle.
Don't know why he'd even bother at this point. The NFL has shown a steadfast unwillingness to take part in serious settlement negotiations.

OK, the judge writes his signature with a black sharpie marker. Who does that? Now I'm worried again.

Why does it say NFLPA as petitioner, wasnt it NFL that filed it first?

Maybe Berman wants to make sure he makes it really really really difficult for the Superior Court to overturn his decision against the NFL on appeal

Remember, there are two lawsuits being handled at once. NFL suing NFLPA to confirm arbitration and NFLPA/Brady countersuing NFL to have arbitration vacated. Note the double caption on the order.

The only possible explanation for this silly update would be that the NFL has decided that "shizz just got real", and has decided to come back to the table to avoid losing altogether

I'm pretty sure that's the case the NFLPA filed in Minnesota, which was removed to the SDNY and consolidated with the case the NFL filed.

Now iam worried the nfl bends over to accept brady's offer for 1 game for no guilt.

Oh man, this thread just took a turn to the hilarious.

It's like 100 super-PMS women scratching their eyes out right now. :D

(seriously, what did you all think? The window was anywhere from yesterday when those parties left the building until close of business on friday....)

.

Brady will heavily weigh team first as he always does and perhaps that will be why he takes a game if that report he offered it is accurate.

Can we blitz 33% of the 1st game?

Curran makes a good point:

That Berman said a decision and "order" may be forthcoming could be telling. Why would there be "order" is just simple affirmation?

Granted, I assume Berman would be issuing an order either way, but I think we can all agree that an over vacating the arbitration award would have a lot more moving parts, be a lot more intricate, and would need to be more thoroughly worked through to appeal-proof it. I'm not saying that the delay is definitely a good sign for Brady, but it seems to be more likely a good sign than a bad one.

He said either today or Wednesday. Granted, that's not all too specific, but he gave out the impression that it would come sooner than later.

Now we're not even sure Brady will even have time to file an injunction. I would say that's cause for concern.

sounds like ruling will be later than everyone expected, thus the order today?

@tomecurran Could be order confirming or vacating arbitration award. Standard language.
