Which failed Jets jnr. exec will take his place?

I was going to make a Mike Tannenbaum joke, then I remembered he works for the Dolphins now.

Seriously, how incompetent do these guys have to be to get to where they can't fall ass backwards into a cushy job somewhere else? Mike Tannenbaum put the Jets so far in cap hell that it took a few years and a separate fall guy GM to dig them out of it. All for a team that was never even near good enough to bring home a Lombardi.

Probably the same way we watch european soccer over here. By accepting that you're going to have a really bizarre sleep schedule.
Strange was sure Champ League was at 3 pm or something, not doing the night... ( ofc depending on location in the states )

Depends on the game/league/day. Bayern Munich's next game starts at 3:30am EST, for example.

If you can sleep on the job Mike Francesca might be interested in that PR Cheif position.

Looks like Simmons brushed up on his Machiavelli.

Funny that Simmons seems to understand the NFL so well, a ruthless, Machiavellian organization, that constantly creates made up drama and crises to distract the public from its own incompetence.

.....It is almost like he has some type of personal experience with a similar type of organization.

Brit pat how do you watch the games in England?

Live feeds..I was able to catch every game live last year. However, that was on Wiziwig so I now need to get a new stream service which was as reliable as that was! Will only be able to find that when the season starts, but I will!
Doesn't beat going over to Foxboro though, as I did for the Gronk knee smash game against Cleveland!

Probably why he (Hicks) bailed out...career preservation.
Someone posted the reddit thread on the Sony e-mail leaks related to the movie, Hicks' name was all over it. Wouldn't surprise me if he bailed (or was forced out) because of bad pub around that and/or anticipated bad pub as the movie draws closer and people start learning about the NFL's role in 'shaping' the story about their corruption.

I'm fascinated to see how the media handles that movie, whether anyone will dig into the NFL's involvement and if that becomes a story itself.

Does this mean that, if he finds the process unfair, Berman can actually use a paucity of evidence as part of his ruling?
Sure reads that way, which would explain his deep interest in the actual facts of the case.

If he finds the process to be unfair, and the evidence to be lacking, that makes his decision pretty easy.

I think 4:30 pm would really be the latest we would see a decision, if it is posted to ECF today

So before I turned off th tube, troll and spaz were trying to figure how a decision would be announced, they had no clue.

IIRC, the Fact the the NFL filed the suit first, that allowed Berman to examine factual evidence, this was from Stradely's Q&A.

Well, with Tod Leiweke coming in as COO, it puts an organizational layer between Goody and the underlings. It easily could be that Hicks got pissed off that he was now reporting to him and not Goody. That seems shallow to me.

Pure speculation but by going to a PR firm that handles the NFL's PR, that tells me that his relationship with the NFL is still strong and not acrimonious.

IMO- they did a great job of spin and creating a narrative but seemed to me that they didn't communicate well internally. Seemed very siloed. Could be a highly-charged political environment and he got sick of the BS.

I hope some details come out that lead us to understand the reasons behind his departure.
One thing is clear the NFL did not get rid of Hicks for competence. The guy presided over one the greatest hoaxes of all time. He managed the league's PR so well he convinced most of the nation that Brady and the Pats were guilty of a crime that never happened. As evil as it was, you have to admit it was brilliant PR work.

So whatever caused Hicks to leave the NFL offices and go to a less visible job, but one that will still have him working for the NFL, wasn't likely to be because of he was doing a "bad" job. But it certainly will be interesting to find out exactly what DID prompt the move.
