Shannon Sharpe on First Take (deflategate)

When the allegations about the long-term effects of head injuries started coming out, I didn't really take them seriously.

But once I started listening to Shannon Sharpe and Marshall Faulk, I was a True Believer of the brain damage that repeated concussions can cause. It actually caused mental ******ation in full-grown adults.

Ever since they got on NFL shows, I have taken this issue very, very, very seriously, and we all should too.

I attacked him on Twitter. Told him thank god he has Twitter because nobody understands WTF he is saying. Then asked him if he read the Wells Report, and then said, oh yeah, you can't read.
Ouch!!

At this point I have to ask, where is Tedy Bruschi in all this. Now I don't watch BSPN any longer, but I would think any impassioned defense of his good buddy, Tom Brady would have found its way here. Are they muzzling him?. Has he been on vacation for the last 8 months? Any time, Tedy, NOW is the time, damn it. Actually it is PAST time!

"They were told on multiple occasions"

I didn't listen to the audio, but I think it would be hilarious to hear Sharpe say "multiple occasions"

I would imagine it sounds like "motopo ocajun"

Sharpe is one jealous person. He seems to conveniently forget that what the Bronco's did to cheat the cap was to gain an advantage. That's been proven. Shannon is proof that you can be borderline brain-dead and still make run at the NFL.

This has really been bothering me. People used to actually get into trouble for slandering others. Now, BSPN is free to repeat lie after lie and nobody holds them accountable. Well, they did give that 12:20 am retraction...

It's been said that on the field the Patriots play chess while the rest of the league play checkers. Unfortunately, off the field it is the other way around. The league's obviously been out to get Brady for a long time and the Ravens play-off game was the tipping point. After Tom suggested that the Ravens read the rulebook on the "trick" play that wasn't a trick play, the owners had their concrete example that one of the help was getting uppity and had to be put in his place. From there, and having learned from the Bountygate fiasco, it was a simple matter of finding a point in the game that could be used to legitimize their fraud. Fortunately for them, such a a point was delivered in the form of a Brady interception that was used to float the idea that according to the interceptor the Pats used "light" balls,. The fact that said interceptor refuted this lie was of no consequence as they were able to use the lie as the basis for the phony sting operation before needing to make the lie available for public consumption. From there, Brady was forced to run a race against the league after the league had pantsed him at the starting line.

The league knows Brady is innocent of the whole Deflate-gate non-sense but to them that's not his real crime. The league wants to show Brady that, regardless of any accomplishments of he and his ilk, they are football's, and life's, real winners and even the most successful of them are not part of the club. To that end they flex their muscles by using henchmen/minions (Goodell, Kensil, Pash, Wells, et al) to implement their will and then justify their fundamental dishonesty and unfairness via useful idiots (Munson, Sharpe, Storm, etc.) provided via media outlets they control (i.e. anyone seeking to do business with the NFL). The bucket they provide to have these people carry their water is a farcical CBA, the epitome of a contract that is created when all the money and/or power is on one side of the table (see Versailles, Treaty of). The CBA might as well say "The league is always right and when it's not right see Article 26."

Anyway, with regards to the First Take in question, around the 1:02 mark it sounded to me like Shannon Sharpe was lumping in the Butler interception with the ref picking up the flag in the DAL/DET game and the Dez Bryant catch/non-catch in the DAL/GB game as things that happened in last year's playoffs that make people question the integrity of the game or something. Did I hear wrong or is this guy really that stupid or intellectually dishonest?

I tell mine that PV=nRT.

Then they say "Dad, we know THAT. We aren't MORONS"

Shannon Sharpe's most recent statements on deflategate were clear, concise and legally irrefutable. After hearing them one can draw only this conclusion(without exception): Brady is guilty and the commissioner has an unquestionable right to mete out justice without restriction or process.
Shannon Sharpe embodies the kind of thought and reason that we lack in many corners of the media as well as many professions in general.

Lester Munson

I found this tid bit today

Consider Mark Schlereth, who spent six seasons as a Denver Broncos offensive lineman, protecting quarterback John Elway en route to two Super Bowl victories. In a 1998 playoff game at Kansas City, Schlereth and his fellow linemen coated their arms and the backs of their jerseys in Vaseline. The Chiefs' defenders couldn't grab onto the slimy Broncos and quickly complained to officials. It was quite a scene, Schlereth recalls, as officials used towels on the sidelines to wipe down the oily visitors in a game Denver would ultimately win, 14-10, on its way to a Super Bowl triumph.

"Did I grease up my jersey, and use sticky substances on my gloves? You're damn right," Schlereth said recently. "What you call cheating is a fine line. It's an interesting line. What we did, in the locker room, is called being creative. Certain cheating is snickered at, or applauded."

Don't believe what they see on TV carte blanche, get the facts for themselves.

Roger quite likely will be one of the least popular names for kids born in New England for a few years.

I'm surprised Goodell hasn't already become a figure of speech in New England. Something like "d%#*!@t! I think that fish stew was bad, I have to go take a Goodell".

Better still if you assume he says all of this while feeding Sharpe a salt lick.

Deflating footballs is equivalent to Vaseline. It's silly. The man confessed about Vaseline and if Brady or the ballboys let air out I'm sure they would have fess up because it's no big deal to them. But if someone has an agenda they look for the Easter bunny on Christmas.

It goes to show guys like Shannon Sharpe are hypocrites, they pontificate like their angels when their own team and teammates cheat.
