I got a bad feeling about this. My gut feeling is that if the Judge really thought Brady was being railroaded and was 100% innocent, he would not push for a settlement. Because of that, I think he will rule in favor of the NFL and give Goodell absolute power. I also think that Brady should retire and say fck you to the NFL and Kraft and go live his life with his hot ass wife.

no just no

Hes not talking about the case, hes talking about how everything has gone against Brady since the AFCCG even with all the false hopes we had from"sources". But of course they were all from before Berman so it's not relevant.

Go back and read what he said.

You're seriously asking me to find you the hundreds of tweets and articles that spoke to Brady's defense over the last eight months, in order to wet your appetite? Seriously?

Here's something you can do, go scroll back eight months in time and skimp through each Deflategate-based post on this site. You'll find them all in there....

It's not about whetting my appetite. It's about what you claim was the case not being the case.

I have the same feeling. Not feeling good about this. NOTHING has gone right for the Pats during this whole debacle except winning the Super Bowl (God was that great !). Wells Report, Kraft denial, Kraft bending over and taking it, Brady suspension, Brady losing appeal, just nothing has gone right. This organization has been ripped apart, it's been all bad news. I don't expect any good news.

That being said, I've said in the past few weeks, even if Brady loses, he's won, because the NFL lawyers admitted to a judge in court, they have no concrete evidence that Brady did anything wrong. That's good enough for me. I will shove that in hater's faces until the day I die. NFL admitted they don't have proof. Their beloved Wells Report admitted it had no proof. **** 46, **** the ****ty CBA, **** Kraft, and especially **** Goodell, they have no proof Brady cheated and it's in black and white for all to see.

Regardless of the outcome I think brady plays this season. He'll appeal it and it could take a year or two to resolve.

Milstein believes that asking both sides if they want to add anything to the record indicates that he believes an appeal is coming.

Milstein thinks it's a certainty that the NFL will appeal if they lose, but that Brady might not.

Therefore, he thinks that telegraphing his expectation of an appeal suggests--if anything (and emphasis on if anything)--a Brady win as the more likely outcome.

I think it's important not to read much into that line of reasoning, as it doesn't even sound like Milstein is. It's more of "if you have to read something out of this, this is what would be the most sensible reading". He's by no means making a strong prediction.
Milstein's inference matches that of the Wells report.

Hold on...a Federal Court Judge has 3 objectives in this priority.

1) Uphold the Constitution of the US and the Bill of Rights.
2) Interpret law, apply it to the matter at hand, guide the parties to a peaceful resolution and when necessary, rule accordingly.
3) Avoid appeals to a higher court.

Apply that to this case.

Good grief man, you're annoying to converse with.

You're seriously going to sit here and tell me there hasn't been numerous tweets and articles that have gotten up the hopes of fans here, only to be crushed by reality?

You're seriously going to tell me that hasn't been the case? Have you been reading this board since February? I've seen your posts, numerous times, so clearly you've been on here, but I guess you just choose to believe what you want.

This conversation has now run it's course...

Football players were dancing across ESPN'/NFL stages tossing footballs to each other and asking "can you fell the difference in this ball?"

I'd LOVE for them to repeat that with footballs that differed by 0.2 psi instead of 2 psi.

I disagree emphatically.

That wasn't a sports article at all. It was an opinion column saying:
  • Unions provide important protection for workers.
  • It's bad that in the US most workers don't have union protection.
  • That even Tom Brady needs this protection should open our eyes about how much ordinary workers need unions.
Agree or disagree as you choose -- my own opinion probably leans against that of the columnist -- but please don't say the column was content-free.

The information in the article is common knowledge

This was your initial post in the string:

Milstein's tweets are the type of things we've been fed consistently since February....

Unfortunately for us, the actual results have always been the opposite.

Hard to get excited for the ruling tomorrow/Wednesday, but I'm trying to keep the faith.

It's simply not the way things went. People didn't even really start to turn until after some of us began to shred the Wells report.

What's this ******** now?

Tom Brady was open to accepting a one-game suspension on Monday, via @RapSheet http://t.co/LZUXZXGvOO

The key words are that he was supposedly willing to accept 1 game for "not cooperating" . But even that in itself is ridiculous to accept a suspension for. Plus, didn't Wells himself commend Brady for his cooperation?

You're taking my "initial post" way too literal in order to fit your argumentative agenda. I could care less what the initial view "people" had. Some "people" originally thought it was a joke, which in reality it was/is, and that it would be put to bed early. Until the Wells Report came out, several "people" thought this was a tiny blip that would pass over quickly. The tide turned in Brady's favor pretty quickly, then the Wells' sham report squashed that promptly.

The fact of the matter is, there was HUNDREDS of tweets/articels that made us fans think this would be over quick: one prominent one was Sharks of Vegas, along with certain tweets from many different journalists such as Schefter who once predicted this would end in Brady's favor early on, etc, etc, etc. Heck, go back to the Super Bowl broadcast, where Michaels and Collinsworth

I'm not going to find all those instances that got us fans here excited early so you can have your own private party...

Stop splitting hairs and move on.

The problem is that Sharks of Vegas was never ever a legitimate source of information though we desperately hoped it was. Here there are dozens of actual named legal minds supporting Brady.

Those wondering what was meant by the NFLPA statement today might find this interesting:

For the first time, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was believed to be "open" to serving a one-game suspension for not cooperating with Ted Wells' investigation as part of a potential settlement. It was a possibility heading into settlement talks in court Monday, according to someone briefed on his thinking.

Never said they were legitimate and never said every bit of information that's come out over of the last eight months was legitimate and were reported by legitimate journalists.

All I said was that there was hundreds of tweets and articles that got us excited that this situation would be resolved in Brady's favor.

You're twisting my words worse then Ted Wells now...
