You've been expecting the worst since day one, and telling us about it in post after post. If that actually happens, why would it make you sick at this point?

Dues, there are actually people that believe it's better to think negative....that it brings good luck.

I know people that never predict a Pats win because they think it's bad luck.....I never can understand these people because they're dilusional.

Imagine believing that thinking negative helps bring positive results.

Maybe we should post links that prove...

THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A JINX

I really wish we could get live updates as the judge speaks so we could treat this like a game day thread - who doesn't love the roller coaster of those?

Busy day at work, so I haven't been able to follow closely like last time. Would anyone mind giving me a quick one-sentence executive summary of what we know has happened so far?

Honestly, at this point, everything that could go our way, hasn't, so it's tough to feel optimistic.

One would hope that a pro-labor Judge such as Berman, who's seen through the NFL's BS this entire court saga, would "do the right thing", but again, who knows....

No Brady, No Banner. Let's make opening night ugly.

They walked in, thanked the court and walked out, no settlement, ruling in the next day or two.

Interpret as you will...

NFLPA attorney Jeff Kessler just told me, "I trust the court will give us a just result."
Is it possible Brady didn't deflate the balls on purpose to try to catch Goodell and make it look like he was framing him? I don't think we should rule that out. Kessler probably figured out Brady's scheme and now he's hoping that Brady gets busted.

I am prepared for the worst, only because of how this thing has gone. Nothing has gone right in this whole thing, so it's just how I will feel until I hear otherwise..
On the contrary. Since this thing has gotten out of the NFL's shadow far more has gone right than wrong. it was only wrong because Goodell had all the power/control and Brady's side was wise to keep their intentions confidential.

Brady brought Jay Feely with him, Berman requested(ordered) Mara to attend, he did. Doesn't sound like any more arguments took place, settlement talks again failed. Berman will rule by Weds

Curran on WEEI: says Brady was a lot more upbeat in the courtroom today after they left the robing room (did not have the scowl he had in previous meetings).
If this were any other participant in a high stakes Federal Court proceeding, whose reputation and a few million dollars of his money were on the line, and not an athlete like Brady, who monitors every single thing that he puts in his body, I'd have a one word response to the report that he was smiling and upbeat: "Pharmaceuticals." ;)

So it basically will take as long as it will take for Judge Berman's law clerk to write the decision. It is clear that he has made up his mind.

this just in .... brady standing over goodell

Is that the latest courtroom sketch?

Probably because he didn't have to waste 7 hours in a courtroom this time. He can meet Gisele in Mid-Town for lunch.

.

Curran on WEEI: He thinks it's better than 50/50 the NFL wins based on article 46 (suspension upheld). He's not a lawyer though.

I don't get that. Didn't the court already rule (in a different circuit but still...) that Goodell can't do whatever he wants under 46?

I don't get this at all. The NFL has violated the CBA multiples times that should out weigh that. Article 46 didn't work in the Ray Rice case right?

Article 46, which has been around for quite a while, has become the bogeyman for the media. It's sort of like the "courts almost never overrule arbitration rulings" line, which has been parroted about a billion times, despite the NFL being on a roll against the NFL in recent court rulings.

But still just being precautionary here.

I wonder if the judge announced the decision privately to the parties and now will take a day or two to write it up?are these things possible?

It is the MCI, after all, so take it for the toilet paper it is worth:

Gut feeling: Brady wins this one. But the losing side will almost certainly appeal, dragging this on for months/years

If Brady takes a settlement which includes a game loss but just for non cooperation I would understand. The UK papers are reporting marital discord in the Brady home and I can only imagine the type of pressure having a multi billion dollar unaccountable business going after you personally must have on him. The guy has a wife and kids and I know if it were me it would take a huge toll. That is one of the things which is so maddening. This is nothing for Roger or the other NFL pigs. All over 2/10 of a PSI.

So you think that Tom Brady's wife is creating marital problems because he isn't acting like the man she married, and quitting?
What's next, she thinks he is guilty and wants him to admit it?
