He's a Federal Judge. He's been a Federal Judge for over 16 years. He can say whatever he wants in his Courtroom and he can do just about anything legal he wants from the Bench.

Hate to speculate here but I think Berman did a little foreshadowing here in his secret room.

If Berman told TB he was ruling for the NFL, TB12 would have looked like Bill O'Brien told him he sucks.

I am prepared for the worst, only because of how this thing has gone. Nothing has gone right in this whole thing, so it's just how I will feel until I hear otherwise..

Curran on WEEI: He thinks it's better than 50/50 the NFL wins based on article 46 (suspension upheld). He's not a lawyer though.

I don't get that. Didn't the court already rule (in a different circuit but still...) that Goodell can't do whatever he wants under 46?

If he is willing to rule this early instead of closer to sept4 when he said in the past to not hold him to the date, I dont know what it means. Maybe he is just ready to get it over with or maybe he wants enough time befor sept4 for an injuction filing to happen if he is ruling against NFLPA.

I don't get this at all. The NFL has violated the CBA multiples times that should out weigh that. Article 46 didn't work in the Ray Rice case right?

I think it's the safe way to go for prognosticators. They say "Brady's side did the best it could have hoped for given the circumstances, and it's probably a coin flip, but my inclination is the NFL will prevail."

That way you're playing both sides and can claim you were right no matter which way Berman rules.

Until I hear otherwise, I think that's extremely good news. Brady wouldn't have been able to hide his discontent otherwise.
