I bet BB is on the phone with him.

You don't see Belichick as a face timer? ha!
Can you imagine being on the phone with Bill? Talk about awkward silences

He had those numbers AND was injured for part of the season. Would love to bring him in.

In his career against NE, Jackson has averaged per game (around): 12.5 carries for 56 yards, 3 catches for 31 yards. He's scored a total of six TDs (5 rush, 1 rec). That's in 14 games.

I've always like the guy. I vote for signing him.

Keep in mind that Fred can actually run the ball effectively too. His first preseason carry was a 40 yard run.

Don't mistaken his press conferences with his dealings with players. Listen to Moss and Rodney talk about how BB called them up.

As long as he's been in the league, Fred Jackson has been my favorite player not in a Patriots uniform. If he and Reggie Wayne joined the team in the same year, that would be something. I'd rather have him than Blount, age be damned.

However, I suspect there's other teams who will be more interesting and can offer him the chance to start. The Rams and Texans come to mind. But I wouldn't be surprised at all if he joins the Patriots. I'm shocked Rex let him go. And kept Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown? Give me a break.

Always really liked his game. If the Williams let him go, he's likely done. Young legs needed.

Sign the beast!

Saw him play the other night and he looked great. I think BB has alot of respect for Jackson I would really like to see us sign this guy. He is a model teammate an a leader in the locker room. I live in western ny and have watched him for years by far my favorite guy on a team i despise. Thus far our RB is less than inspiring.

Holy f***, sign him now. I would take Jackson over Blount knowing we also have Gray.

So Blount goes over a 34 year old RB?

I like Fred Jackson but hes a "break in case of glass" guy now.

The more I think about it, the better idea this seems. He can replace/upgrade both Gray and Cadet. And save a roster spot.

One thing that seems consistent about BB is if he gushes about an opposing player he'll try to sign them.

Fred would get a chance to wear a ring and get revenge on his former team. The only downside for him is it is definitely not a starting job he'd be splitting with Blount.

I'll be surprised if we don't sign him.

Blount's stats combined with the Steelers and Patriots last year weren't much more impressive than Jackson's, and the latter is one of the better receiving and pass protecting backs in the league while Blount needs to come off the field on third down. It's not a decision you'd need to make week 1 anyways.

Jackson has always been one of my more respected opponents. He's a good blocker, obviously can catch the ball, but more importantly for me, he's a RB who WON'T be taken down by the first guy that touches him. While I appreciate what White has done receiving the ball, he STILL gets knocked down by the first guy who hits him. I'd rather have Cadet than him on the roster and Jackson is better than both of them.
