Every ESPN article I've begrudgingly read ends by saying what a strong case the NFL has. I wonder what the reaction will be if the NFLPA wins.

Not sure what Mara or any other owners getting involved is going to do. It seems like it could be counter productive too. Getting one of ****dell's bosses involved who iirc publicly backed ****dell in this. If Mara hasn't yet tried to talk ****dell down from his hill then he isn't going to and it is an absolute spit in the face for him to come in and try to get Brady to come from his hill.

ESPN article, non-Reiss, close page.

It's useful for knowing what the league 'is thinking', since the entire piece may as well have been written by a NFL flunky, but there's no actual news in the article...

That 11 of 12 Patriot balls were underinflated by two pounds................

It will be a scoop from Chris Mortenson, whose word is his bond, as solid as oak.........

What time is the hearing?

Silence.......

Hence my positioning of it entirely as the NFL making a public statement.

Well message is the NFL is sweating bullets about their 'rock solid' cast LOL.

As I said in another thread almost all fans outside NE know little about the details, they still think the balls were 2 psi low. However if Berman vacates the ruling these fans will think the judge is saying Brady is innocent, not realizing the ruling concerns process issues.

It will be must see TV to see Polian spinning the limited nature of the ruling to protect his pal Goody and repeating whatever lies are at hand.

Does anyone expect the NFL* to ever come and say they are concerned that they have a weak case and may not prevail?

Anyone think we get a ruling tomorrow? My guess is the earliest is Friday. There will probably be more closed-door sessions during the week.

Don't be too sure that even if Berman vacates the punishment, people will think Brady is innocent. The reputation of Patriots as cheaters is etched in granite due to the camera placement fiasco and the acceptance of punishments by the Pats' owner. They will just think that Brady is guilty and got off on a technicality.

Berman's ruling will weigh large. The Judge will be invalidating the charge in the eyes of most fans, the haters will hate but they would ever if Brady wins a defamation suit the showed the conspiracy.

Maybe on Goodells deathbed he might say something, but certainly not before.

Damned you, Fencer for linking me to ESPN propaganda central and Damned me for not reading the link before I clicked it. ;)

Nothing unexpected from NFL league PR headquarters. Try to create the impression of added pressure on Tom to make a deal. Imply that whatever the judge rules will be overturned and reinforce the notion that the NFL side of this case is unassailable. Mission completed:

God I pray when Tom files his defamation suit ESPN is the 2nd name mentioned. Their campaign of misinformation, flat out lies, and 1am retractions is so transparent that it must sicken some of guys who have to spew it. But at any rate, I think the word about ESPN is getting out across the country, and the money it's costing Disney is music to my ears.

Screw ESPN and screw Disney!
