Blount is an absolute terrible guess. He was playing then because he is suspended the first game.
The 32 would be the first pick of the second round.
The sanctions are that the Pats lose the lowest 1st round pick even if it is another teams that was obtained via trade? Could you send a link to this interpretation.
Regarding the title - - I would say "most probably".
The Sanders cut a few years was the worst. He was good, smart, dependable, cheap, made clutch plays and his cutting left an already weak secondary even weaker. That was unforgivably bad by Belichick.
No, the way Godell worded it, was say the Pats win the SB (again), and somehow trade for what ends up being pick # 15, then the Pats would forefiet the earlier puck, 15.
So basically whatever BB traded to get that pick, he would not see anything back for it.

If we traded someone for a first round pick, then we would get a first round pick because we would then get our own pick back assuming it was later than the pick we traded for.
But, there's no-one That would bring back a first rounder that I would be keen to trade anyway
Yes, this is exactly what I was trying to say. Thank you, @manxman2601
The point was that if Belichick agreed to a deal with a team that was in the late teens/early twenties (and we pick at say, 28), there would still be "lost value," but Goodell cannot prevent us from making trades. There are hypothetical scenarios where we can still select a player in next year's first round, but that pick would have to be acquired via trade.
Boyce to the Browns for the suspended Josh Gordon
Fixed it for you
Bill planning ahead
Very true! I just can't remember the last time there was not a WTF move . . . at least to me. It was Tommy Kelly for me last season. At this point, wouldn't the absence of a WTF move be a WTF move on its own?
I agree but, it wouldn't be nearly as bad as cutting Meriweather and Sanders.
It was Mankins for me. I remember listening to it on the Radio and I stayed in my car for over 20mins after I reached home. I could not cut the radio out.Very true! I just can't remember the last time there was not a WTF move . . . at least to me. It was Tommy Kelly for me last season.
