That first pick was all on Dobson.

100%

If he can't make that play, he doesn't belong in the league.
If Tillman couldn't swat the ball out when it's right in front of his face and on Dobson's back side then he doesn't belong in the league

Your argument has no merit. Dobson's the larger player, and he had position, and Tillman didn't just bat the ball down. He came up with the pick, because Dobson completely failed to do his job.

Based on where Tom put the ball, Tillman was in perfect position to bat it out. Then, after watching a frame by frame of them going to the ground, I find it completely unreasonable to expect Dobson to make the catch. Look where Tillman's arm is.

Do you see any sort of potential there though?

If LaFell is put on the PUP list, I think that we will be glad that Dobson is on the roster.

Yes. I don't want the kid to fail, because I'm tired of Brady not having anyone he can just Flacco the ball to once or twice a game. Dobson's got the potential to be the first legit homegrown middle-deep threat of the BB era, unless you want to give that title (under a broad interpretation) to Givens. He's, unfortunately, also got the potential to be cut before week one.

If a reciever can get two hands on the ball he should catch it. That's what they are paid to do and they aren't paid pennies to do it. We always envy teams that have receivers that can go after the ball and fight for it, but when one of our receivers dont do it why is it acceptable.

On a side note, I think Dobson does offer something our other receivers don't have.

I highly doubt he will be cut but if he is, I'll just say that I won't be surprised if he is one of the few players ever to go somewhere else and find much greater success then he's had here

People might not agree with this, but I think Dobson has a reasonable chance to become a better player than Lafell. He just needs to stay healthy and get reps.

Then you have no idea of what the hell you're evaluating.
Have you watched the replay? Or is argument just a misguided gut reaction in disguise?

Agree with everything up until you said he could potentially he cut. If he's healthy it would be a shocker if he was cut.

He should quickly get a fall guy or else he will be the fall guy out of the roster.

It really depends on how many receivers they'll carry, and how much they like their UDFA. From the outside looking in, I'd slot them like this right now:

Locks:
Edelman
Lafell
Amendola

Near locks:
Wayne

Battling for 1-2 spots:
Dobson
Harper
Krause

Looking for a new team:
Boyce

I could certainly be wrong, but that's how I'd handicap this thing, as of today.

I've watched it multiple times.

Just how much longer do we keep making excuses for Dobson? Just don't think the dude is going to make it in this league.

I've watched it multiple times.
Then what, specifically, should Dobson have done to prevent Tillman from doing what he did? Oh I know, after stopping momentum and adjusting to the poorly thrown ball he should have fended off Tillman with his right arm and caught the ball with his left, then thrown Tillman on the ground and walk into the end zone for the easy TD. Obviously any NFL caliber player would have done this..

Take it up with Zolak, Chatham and Fauria.

They have the same subconscious bias everyone else has: because the ball was thrown by the goat to a receiver who has done nothing but disappoint, it is safe to assume said receiver disappointed once again.

There's not a bias issue here. There's a "You don't know what the hell you're talking about" issue here, and it's on you. The moment you posted:

"Then, after watching a frame by frame of them going to the ground, I find it completely unreasonable to expect Dobson to make the catch."

you made that as clear as day.
