I swear, tonight's post game press-conference was a small gem. You know that uncomfortable silence in-between questions that Belichick brings out of the media? Well, Belichick was tapping his fingers on the podium -- even more than usual -- to the point where he was almost starting crack up over it. The mic was really picking up the sound, too; and Belichick was just tap, tap, tapping away during those long, quiet, uncomfortable moments. I can't be the only one who noticed this. There was one part where Bill was kinda starting to grin while tapping, but kept it together. Then, as he was stepping down and walking off, he was practically chuckling. Zolak and Burton were both kinda grinning too; couldn't have been a coincidence.

A small, but very amusing anecdote.

I posted in the game thread that he looked/sounded like he was falling asleep.

Were they passing a mic between the reporters? That would explain the delay between questions.

I noticed it. it was hilarious. it seemed like he waited 5 minutes in between questions.

If I were at the PC, there would not have been 5 seconds between questions.

BB looked particulalry dour, even for him. I'm tempted to say that if looks could kill, last night there would have been no survivors.

He should be dour: his OL can't run block, starting LG & backup LT have gone unaddressed, and he has zero quality depth at WR due in no small part to his inability to identify & acquire college talent.

Agreed. They aren't executing well.

That's why they've had the same luck with WR as the Packers.. *rolls eyes*

Zero Depth at WR?? What do you call Edelman, Lafell, Amendola, Dobson? Chopped liver? Oh wait. They aren't your binkies so they must suck.. Regardless of what their performance has actually shown..

Back-up LT is unaddressed? Vollmer and Cannon both play there..
Starting LG? Wendell followed by Mason.

Maybe you should just go apply to be a talent evaluator. Show BB all your 20/20 hindsight work. I'm sure that he'll hire you to replce him...

BTW, you ever going to answer how you know that these players you tout would actually excel in the Pats system and not be busts??? I mean, clearly you've interviewed these players and you know you they will interact and take to BB's coaching methods.. So let's hear this great analysis you have..

I loved it. He was intimidating the mediots with his demeanor. Nobody wanted to be the first to get a smackdown. His control of these press conferences should make some great business school fodder. You youngsters pay attention!

I think it is a much greater local media presence at the preseason game, and they've all been beat down enough to know that asking Belichick any question is just a waste of breath. :D
