We have 3 WRs who have ever accomplished anything in this offense. Of those, 2 are tough smurfs with the medical history that results from that, and 1 is starting out the season hurt.

So there may be plenty of times when the 22 is the best talent, matchups even aside ...

Yes he's gone up against 2s and 3s, but then he hasn't had Gronk, Edelman or Chandler to throw too.

I haven't watched the game couldn't get a streaming feed. I will watch at Midnight on a rerun DirecTV the NFL channel. I look forward to viewing as you have. I know the Pats won 17-16. Pre season has so many variables it is difficult to appreciate an individual player except kicker, and punter. BB looks for so much more than we do.

Absolutely, but if you look for traits rather than results then I think you can get a decent read on how someone is doing. What we'll struggle to know with Garoppolo is how he's doing mentally in terms of understanding the defended he sees in front of him when he comes to the line.

Play of the . . . post game: Brady, after sharing long post-game chats with Rodgers and Brees, leaves the field with nothing for Newton. I love it. Dude's been a chump to me since I saw the video and it appears Brady shares the sentiment. Brady is primed to destroy the league if things go according to plan. F*ck 'em all!

He may have been drinking, hard to say....but, don't go by his eyes, he has "lazy eye" (amblyopia).

Defense was able to get some pressure on the QB tonight which is a positive sign--Flowers and Rufus Johnson (strong PS candidate) flashed well but need some work on finishing the play. The addition of Sheard is going to be key over the course of a long season as Jones & Ninko will be able to get some rest. Thought the DBs had a strong night and it was good to see Swanson (another PS candidate) make some plays.

Offensively, Dion Lewis with another strong performance and Jimmy G settled down after a rough start; he seems to have the knack for bringing the team down the field in key situations and then finishing the drive-something we haven't seen from our backup QB in the few years before he got here. OL needs some work, but that's to be expected there-they'll certainly start to solidify once Stork & Wendell come back and Jackson & Mason get more experience. Chandler had a nice game; it'll be great to see him paired with Gronk especially in the red zone.

He's been competent (not outstanding) in a variety of RB capacities, so I wouldn't rule it out.

However, if Bolden was used in a Patrick Pass capacity, I'd expect some guy from another position to get a few reps as the true jumbo FB. We've had an ILB (Seau), an OG (Connolly), TEs (I forget which) and DL (Seymour, Klecko, perhaps more). Almost anybody big enough is a possibility.
