Clete Blakeman is Bad News for the Patriots

So next time Brady heaves up a long pass out of bounds to intentionally kill the remaining clock, I expect the Pats will be penalized, with the opposing team given the ball with time for one last play.

he didn't throw the ball out of bounds. he threw it in the middle of the field with no one in the area.

I am referring to a previous game where it was 4th down and the Pats needed to kill 3-4 seconds. Brady heaved up a deep pass out of bounds that allowed the clock to run out.

It wasn't to avoid a sack, so it's the same as spiking the ball, right?

The Panthers flag pickup was garbage, but the intentional grounding was a fair call.

For the record, I didn't say that it wasn't grounding. What I did say is that you never see this called grounding. Same with the Brady play in the Super Bowl. Hadn't seen that called that way before and haven't seen it called since.

I'll just go into this expecting the team to get screwed by this Ref. Why not? The league has been kicking them around all off season. Why stop now?

"Mr. Dreith, I have the NFL league office on the phone. They want to know if you want to come out of retirement and ref a bunch of Patriots games this year."

He intentionally threw the ball away without a receiver in the area to avoid a sack. The flag was warranted. You sound like a Raiders fan complaining about the tuck rule.
Honestly I've never seen that called. If someone has a video of it I'd be more than willing to reconsider but that is never called as far as I can remember regardless of who was in the area.

In FIFTY years of watching football i call only recall seeing throwing the ball out of the endzone callled intentional grounding once maybe twice. The Brady throw, and i have a vauge recollection of it being called another time. So while i guess technically its int grounding you could watch hundreds of games and not see any reff make that call.

i agree. the team in Sb 46 simply wasn't very good and didn't deserve to win. just looking at the defense from that year makes me shake my head as to what we were doing in that game to begin with. you can't win with edelman and antoun moulden as you CBs and welker and hernandez as your biggest offensive threats.

The giants were not a good team either, they went 9-7 and went to the SB after a stupid muffed punt, talk about being lucky, and then again in the SB when Wes dropped a ball he would catch 999 out 1000 times. Eli Manning has a pact with the devil.

By the way, if we had won the Giants in the regular season they wouldn't even make the playoffs, Brady threw a winning touchdown in a 4th down with 1 minute or less left in the clock, just like he did against the Cowboys in that same season. But then the 2011 secondary got in the field and Eli torched that MF Sergio Brown for the win.

I was at the last pats panthers game and the Gronk mugging happened right in front of our lux box ( yes it was sweet and the shrimp was excellent).

Brady went after Clete like nobody's business and the Hammah was even giving it to him, they were screaming at him and followed him as we walked off the field.

Newton kept them in that game with several key runs on third and long.

Re: that Seattle (out of the end zone) and Giants (40 yards downfield) calls -

Somebody let me know when they make either of those calls just once on one of the Mannning brothers or even Aaron Rodgers. By the way, I won't wait underwater for this to happen and you shouldn't either.

I don't know about Arrington but I do know that when you lose containment on Cam Newton, it's death That's the real story of how NE lost that night.

That game against the Seahawks game them so much confidence going forward.

Last week it was the clown car of zebras, tonight it's one of the worst refs in the league…

Get used to it. This will be happening all…season…long.

As for the 2012 Seattle game, the Pats should've been ahead by 20+ points in the 4th quarter, then those 2 late TDs would've meant jack squat. They fecked up so many plays in so many ways, I don't have the time to list them all.

And don't even get me started on the 2011 home loss to the Jints, aka the worst, luckiest SB winner in history.

Blakeman can't be any worse than that cluster**** we saw a week ago. It was so bad, NFLN scrubbed the last two minutes of the first half from their re-broadcast.

well, you were 100% correct Zeus...this friggin mutt is BEGGING to be erased from humanity...what a total disgrace

Every time I see this dudes face I think of the "bad lip reading" YouTube vids.. Come pick up all your floorbags, you ain't living in Southeast Asia?

I didn't think having Cleteus as ref would make a difference but... if this keeps up, it's gonna be a long season
