Reiss' binkies

Off topic ,but Reiss is the most disappointing reporter in this deflate gate stuff -- he took a 'wait and see approach' / didn't rush to judgement early on, and now he should be attacking the NFL the way Stradley is (and even more-so since Patriots is Reiss's only reporting domain)

Reiss has done a very good job with this..btw, the stuff that Zolak was posting last night was embarrassing

You do realize that he works for ESPN, right? For whatever the reason, they have had Reiss take a hands off approach, giving it to their bigger names (Mortenson). Reiss could have told them he wouldn't write negative things about the team that had no foundation or he could have just declined the assignment. We don't know. But I'm inclined to give Reiss the benefit of the doubt.

My perspective is fine ESPN is a shady evil corporation that has collectively trolled at the least if not outright defrauded the people of New England I choose not to like their reporting, reporters, and pretty much everything that's not live sports that has to do with them.

Reiss can work their if he wants he has the right to feed his family. I have the right as a consumer to say he sux for doing such.

How bout Willie Mac working at NFL net, pissed at him also?

Bruschi still works at ESPN btw.

This thread stayed on top for all of the OP, impressive trolling.

And Heath Evans as well. Antipathy toward Reiss is a waste of time and energy, he is a valuable mole.

As for this article, I don't think Andrews has a chance in hell of being on the 53, but he looks like the quintessential PS candidate. The other two wouldn't surprise me if they made the roster.

Forgot about Heath nobody has done more to defend the wall than him.

Zo had a couple of pops in him. That happens from time to time....

As I already stated players played and earned their love. Further more they aren't exactly hired to be reporters they are hired to provide insight into the game they played. And even furthermore they tend to be douches on the air anyway I can't think of specific things Bru, Willie, or Evans did annoying but Rodney does it often.

Sports reporters are the worst. Why does Reiss get a pass? Let's assume he was a real journalist covering politics or something more relevant would you just shrug it off and say he has to feed his family if he just stood on the side lines and watched a mob impeach the greatest president ever? Or might that be the time when a journalist should act most like a journalist and actually get to the bottom of the truth.

Because Reiss has ALWAYS been fair to the Patriots and not a troll.

If you have noticed BB regards him highly for not asking foolish questions. He and Curran are the reporters BB doesn't treat like dirt.

So you are angry with Reiss for working for a POS network but not Tedy, seems silly to me but it's your popcorn stand.

I don't live in Boston so I don't get the same exposure to this you guys do. I do follow Reiss on twitter and actively search him out online as I enjoy his work. Just to add a little perspective from another state, I am in Dallas and overall I would argue the sports radio here is weak. As far as "deflate gate" goes, it has not received much coverage here actually, even on ESPN Dallas. Of course, the sports radio guys here are all anti-Patriots and think they are cheaters yet they haven't even delved into any of the specifics regarding the Wells Report or the appeal or anything. They seem to ignore it for the most part. But all of the personalities think the Pats are guilty, won't acknowledge the witch hunt and label it as the Patriots having "a history of cheating." Yet they don't acknowledge all of the bs and controversy with the Cowboys.

I guess what I am saying is let's compare Woodward and Bernstein to Reiss.

What if Woodward and Bernstein just stood by and worried about their jobs? Why is not Reiss' job to find deep throat and blow this out the water? He is standing by and watching and I don't give him a pass.

Look it's not just him it's basically the whole sports journalists profession. They all suck. They make up crap and when they're proven wrong there is no accountability because everyone shrugs it off as just sports.

Very dissappointed too. I get the whole feed your family thing but you have to live with your choices you lie with the dogs and I call you a dog that's not my fault. Forget about where he stands or how he covered defamegate because I just don't like ESPN anymore and next time I bump into Reiss I'll let him know.

One of my favorite parts of the pre season game was about an hour before standing in the optum club two feet from the field and Sal Pal walks by and I just yelled at ESPN sux he looked right at me a little surprised and then looked away and kept walking I loudly defended why as he walked off stating why you surprised you work for a company that tells lies and you think no one here is going to call it out.

If I see Reiss you better believe I will say the same thing.

Not everyone is in a family so flush that they have excess disposable income to piss away on Kraft's new end zone extravaganza. Reiss is in a career with limited options. He seemingly loves covering the Patriots and it would be wise to not poke the bear excessively. I'm good with his choices.

Admittedly it's only based upon one game but Rufus Johnson has become a binky of mine, I'm looking forward to seeing him tonight. He really looked the part of an EDGE rusher against the Packers.

Many folks are looking forward to a Big Johnson night.

He does.

Does he suck too?

His football days are what I love him for and it buys him a lot of latitude.

He isnt really a reporter he is an analyst and since he's let himself be silenced the last few months I would say he's not very good as an analyst but I wonder if he is quietly done there so I don't want to pre judge. If he pops back up on ESPN and acts like nothing happened then I'll be highly disappointed.

I read this thread title as "Reese's Bikinis" and while I'm a bit disappointed that's not what it actually says and this isn't a thread with pictures of women in Reese's Pieces bikinis, I'll still contribute.

I like Rufus Johnson the Practice Squad especially because Chandler Jones is in a contract year next year. If we put Rufus Johnson the PS I hope we can keep him.

Oh, fer crissakes. He works for ESPN. Do you have a job? Do you dis your boss in public?

Through this whole mess, taking into account the limited opportunities to care for your family as a Patriots writer...I think Mike Reiss embodies the word Integrity more than any Patriots reporter.

Reiss was earlier than most in publicly doubting the NFL's story. And it wasn't as if there was that much of a counter-story to report, since everybody clammed up.

What's more, your analogy is ridiculous anyway. I don't know what your political views are, but generally some reporter and columnists keep attacking the President, others act as simple mouthpieces for the administration, and others stay out of the way -- but few vehemently defend him, the way (for example) Lester Munson does for Roger Goodell.
