I was listening to WEEI on my way to work tonight.

They said that D&C spoke to someone from the Patriots and were told that that nobody from the Patriots apologized to Mortenson.

D&C are inviting Mortenson on at a time of his choice & will bump anyone including headlines to make it happen.

They do not expect him to accept, because of the information they have.

John Dennis has excellent sources with the Patriots. He went on the record calling out Kensil as the guy who gave Mortenson the false 11 of 12 PSI were by 2lbs report.

There's your mistake...watching ESPN. Don't hold your breath about the national media suddenly coming around. Most suck, a handful are good.

Bill didn't "implicate" Tom. It annoys me now and it annoyed me then when people said bill threw brady under the bus during that press conference. Bill said in all his years of football he never once thought about the air pressure. That was a qB thing. He said talk to tom because he's the QB. He wasn't saying talk to tom because tom is guilty of a crime related to footballs. The media ran with that because mort made it seem like a crime had been committed.

I don't understand why whoever was interviewing mort didn't point out that regardless of if he called them of they called him that he was lied to and should be pissed. He is defending himself and for some reason defending the liars. He is just as if not more to blame than the people who started this in the league office. We need a reporter to call him out on all this.

Why is anyone surprised? Mort is a main stream media guy who works for quite possibly the most egregious 'paid shill' TV hack shop there is, ESPN (a TV station that unabashedly carries water for Goodell, someone who is conspicuously dishonest).

In the non insulated world outside of MSM, many feel when you say something completely and indisputably proven wrong you back completely off, period. You may even do a mea culpa, cop to the error/BS and that is largely that. But that is not how it works in the MSM world. In that world even a factual lie is scratched and clawed at in order to hold onto the lie being pushed. After that, if needed, you try to file off the edges and reshape it with measly wording and twisted logic to make the lie more plausible/understandable on some level. Then, if really needed, you just walk away from it like you never said a thing.
I thought Mort was in stage 3 but, ahem, he fell off the wagon and into stage 2. He filed off the edges, used twisted logic, tried to make it seem more pleasing, palatable and understandable. However, Mort then falls all the way back into stage 1 by mining news depth of MSM scummy-ness. His use of the new "apologize" lie/diversion as some sort of admission of guilt by the Patriots is LOW (his new lie doesn't pass the sniff test on about 5 thousand levels). Even for an MSM type working for a group like ESPN, this is strikingly bad and the mark of someone whose thought process is seriously odd if not unfix-ably warped.
The good news here is it sweeps away Mort's undeserved chance of simply being a guy who was fed bad information. He is now, if not already so, an indisputably and indelibly dishonest hack. A liar who will heap a lie on top of a lie to win some sort of twisted mental point that was already factually lost weeks ago.

If you listen to interview - and I don't mean to cast aspersions because I don't know the guy or what he does - but he sounds like how I used to sound like when I drank, and was trying very hard not to sound drunk.

Compare it to his TV hits from even just last year. The delivery, the wording, is totally different.

It could just be stress, I suppose.

So I read the above last night. I wake up this morning rushing to my computer to find out what WEEI broke on this Mortensen story. It sounds like they broke nothing new at all (except that Callahan claims that Mort is lying). How is this story "advancing"? That tease was lame. All we get is Callahan arguing with MCI #2?

Why bother with the WEEI hype??? Then you are forced to listen to Gerry, Dennis and Minihane all try to "one up" each other.. it is always a tremendous letdown, if they do get something of value they post it on their website..

Honestly I brought this up before, and I think it's showing again, that it's possible that Mort's insistence that he wasn't as wrong as people are saying is that he doesn't really fully believe and/or understand the IGL explanation and that "over 2 psi" is a non-issue to him because he is still thinking about the difference between 1.4 PSI and 2.4 PSI rather than the difference between IGL-adjusted 0 PSI and 1.0 PSI. If we had had the correct numbers from day 1 then Bill Nye and Neil deGrasse Tyson would have probably been explaining to the world why the IGL probably fully explains everything and the whole thing is dumb rather than telling everyone the Patriots were obviously cheaters, but because we had BS numbers from the beginning we never had a good explanation for what happened to reduce the air pressure.
