Wayne: NE offense unlike anything I've played in

I am still stunned by what BB has been able to accomplish with HIS system of communication, semantics and coaching. It CAN'T be something that is easy to copy, otherwise everyone would be doing it. Its frustrating in one sense because it is so hard to put into words that make sense to the layman. And they are so insular over at Foxboro that we will literally have to "wait for the book" before we have any hope of getting some clarity on what he is doing.

I find it fascinating. One of my fantasies, is that I win the lottery, give a lot of money to the Patriots Charitable Foundation, I am rewarded by being able to watch the staff put together a game plan, AND during that week I spot a tendency by one of the opponents' offensive players. But back in real life, I would be so cool to see how they get it done each week.

BTW- I'm guessing that a key factor in being able to be so complex and different each week, is getting the right players. And it might explain a bit of Bill's "eccentricities" (to put it kindly) in his draft process.

I think it might just be easiest to abstract it. Like how people have trouble describing four dimensional shapes in a way that make intuitive sense, so they say that four-dimensional shapes are to three-dimensional shapes as three-dimensional shapes are to two-dimensional shapes.

Similarly, Belichick isn't just playing chess while other guys are playing checkers. What Belichick's doing is to chess as chess is to checkers. So I guess it's something like this?

Austin Collie caught on pretty quickly. I'm sure Wayne will be fine.
BB has never been shy in bringing in fmr Colts. IIRC correctly they rolled Joseph Addai in here a couple of years ago. He couldn't pass the conditioning test so they pulled the plug. They were also interested in Dallas Clark but he wound up going to Baltimore.

Wayne will be fine. Probably been on the phone with Chad Johnson in between practices.

Wayne will be fine, it's not Joey Galloway 2.0. I think he is coming from "run a 7 route" to sight adjustments of "if it's a cover 2, run this route. If it's a different scheme, run another route" where the QB and receiver have to be on the same page in identifying the defense....

According to Galloway, all they did with him at OSU and SEA was draw lines in the dirt and tell him to to run towards the end zone.:p

He picked 15 as his number for right now.

I knew he was toast ( as I have posted before) when at the first exhibition game in Philly, Edelman ( then a rookie) repeatedly had to show Galloway where to line up for the play.....

I hope he can come along. We need the help at the position.

I think he picked "15" because it's his 15th season

Sheldon Cooper will be proud of you !

It would be wonderful if he could somehow get 15tds. If he did I am sure we would feel the bloodlust coming from all the dolts fans. It would be glorious.

There's a big similarity between the Colts and Patriots passing offense, and that is precision. Both require a player to be in exactly the right spot at exactly the right time.

Where the Patriots and Colts differ, according to everything I've heard and read, is in:

Number of plays in playbook
Requirement of WRs to make post-snap reads that will match up with the QB's post-snap reads

Hearing rules committee meeting will address the Wayne signing. More to come soon.
