I'm happy to have Wayne aboard simply so we have someone else who can push for that 3rd receiver spot if Amendola and Dobson can't get it done. Amendola was great in the playoffs, but at the same time did very little with about 400 passing routes during the season. I wouldn't mind a little more competition there.

Amendola and him are so opposite its complementary.

Plus another thing a lot of people forget is this is essentially a contract year for Amendola as they likely wont pick the rest of his contract up. He is 30 and is going to want to show he is worth something so he can set himself up with one more contract.

4.If what we hear is true, and Edelman and Dobson are due to practice this week, then Wayne may be just a good sense signing to protect us against Tyms and Gibson's injuries.

Tyms, Gibson AND LaFell. We can't forget that he's still injured.

I love Reggie Wayne as a Patriot

not a fan of this move

I have no great expectations over this move (some hope though) but I'm looking forward to seeing what he looks like in the next two pre-season games; to seeing if there's anything there.

Really not that excited about this deal, but I am enjoying the reaction from Colts fans so....:p

I don't think it will happen, but how much fun would it be if Wayne got more catches/yards than Andre Johnson?

Don't go there manx I really wanted Andre Johnson this past spring still think he has plenty left in the tank. That said Reggie Wayne is a very good one year consolation I can live with. I think Brandin Cooks reminded BB what a really good young game changing WR is like. I hope Stevie Johnson regrets going to San Diego...the guy choose Rivers over Brady unreal.

Sup, heard he might be good to go week 1

Thanks for the update, much appreciated. That's great news.

In the meantime, I was just pointing out that Ken may have accidentally forgot to include him in his list of injured WRs, that's all.

The Packers rumors doesn't make sense to me, they lost their #1 receiver, they couldn't replace Nelson's production with Wayne, in theory.

The Patriots were looking for depth, and a #4 receiver, that's where Wayne can fill and contribute. Of course the Packers could also be looking for him as a depth player, who knows, but the fact that BB made the deal quickly after the psychical, tells me that he saw what he wanted, not that he was worried about the Packers making a better offer, BB doesn't bid like that.

The Packers rarely go out and sign players. Look at their roster and realize that they go with an almost exclusively home grown 53. They have a few options the fill in at WR already. Options that the Packers would go with over a 37 year old outsider. No way they were in on him.

This. Not only that, I don't see how Wayne helps them. Green Bay's passing game is intermediate to deep - Not sure what a slow possession receiver's going to do for them.
