Is BB getting ready to trade Dobson and Boyce?

It seems that Belichick is giving Dobson two more chances. If he makes this year's roster, he will get a chance at next year's camp.

boyce stinks..
dobson hasn't played in forever so who knows. will probably pull a hammy in the 1st quarter.

more likely hes making sure they dont get stuck with paying them for being injured on IR. i'd except both to be cut due to a lack of progress, seizing the moment

I'm not sure what they saw in Boyce, I have all of a few years experience watching my son train to be a receiver and it never seemed to me like he had any type of fundamentals for the position.

Lets see, its 2015 and preseason is under way:

We have our sign Moss thread.
We not have our yearly trade pretty much worthless players thread.
We have our BB sucks at drafting WRs thread.

What else should we have because I am going to start them to get them out of the way

Danny Amendola sucks thread?

Adam Seward--Duh. ;)

Turn back the clock, add in Kenbrell Thompkins, and we'd have a bunch of people talking about how great the 3 rookie receivers were all over again.

Or someone can just dig up one of the other Seward threads from the past. I've got to imagine that they'd be topping 100 pages in length by now.

They saw workout numbers. This board was smarter than the team on WRs that year.

After reading Belichick's concerns on Julio Jones and his preference for Jonathan Baldwin in the 2011 draft, I'm just flat out convinced that our WR scouting system may need a complete overhaul altogether.

They clearly have a problem there, but I don't know if it's the scouting or just BB.

I'm not meaning to downplay the obvious success that BB has had in the draft, but yes, the position of WR has been an area of concern. Many wasted selections there.

Boyce would be the ultimate test of just how deep the Tampa Bay well is...

I dont care. I cant stand it mk 2 must be coming soon.

BB is always looking for the super boy scout players and that does not work very well with WRs. What is so frustrating is that he keeps repeating the same mistake with WRs again and again.

I think release is more likely than a trade.. still a couple of weeks left, but cannot make the club from the tub..

Are we trying to keep these guys healthy so we can trade them?

No. Holding a guy out who due to injury when they were injured most of last year is the exact opposite of what you would do to prop up their value. And what is the point of holding Boyce out when he just had a terrible performance?

Trades aren't out of the question, of course, but the behavior isn't consistent with that hypothesis.

I'd bet good money that Dobson will not be released.

Trading Boyce who cleared waivers last season is comedy gold.
What's puzzling about Boyce not playing is that Boyce was mentioned as hauling in several Brady passes during the week's joint practices. Add in the lack of bodies at WR and Boyce's limited reps in even pre-season games and something is going on. Could he have had a minor injury and they were saving him for game 3? Or despite the touted catches perhaps his route running on the non-targeted throws was Chad Jackson bad such that the coaches have no faith in him on the field? I have no idea.

If we didn't have recent developmental WR injuries, I'd color him gone even this week.

I'd be very surprised if Dobson and Boyce combined would net anything more than a warm 12 pack of Bud Light in trade value. They'le be cut by the last cut down day at the latest.

Perhaps the team they try and trade with, should they try, will be Up for Whatever.
