Should the Patriots seriously consider signing Randy Moss back to the team?

  • No thanks. I'd pass him

  • Sign him! Bring back the beast!

  • It depends.... but I say give him a shot!

Randy Moss kicks open door for a potential return

Five days ago, former NFL receiver Randy Mossdidn’t completely slam the door on a potential comeback. On Sunday night, he kicked it wide open.

“I actually have not lost the itch,” Moss told Curt Menefee of FOX. “I’ve been working out with a few guys over the offseason. I have been retired for the last two years, but you never know, Curt. But it’s the love of the game that I still have inside of me.”

Replied Menefee: “That’s not a commitment that you’re gonna be here beside us the rest of the year. It doesn’t sound like it. Are you thinking [about a return to football]?”

Said Moss with a big smile, “Hey, I don’t know. The sky’s the limit for me, Curt. So we’ll just have to wait and see.”

Moss seemed downright giddy as he discussed the possibility, which suggests that he either has decided to come back and/or that he knows the interest may be there.

I think he's done but Rand U is such a freak I'd be fascinated to take a shot.

He's done. And he's been retired a few years. And BB dumped him and never looked back.

Loved Moss here during those years and I wish him well but hopefully he doesn't come to Foxborough.

Moss was great, but I think he has nothing left. Who knows though, I don't see BB revisiting that situation. Though Moss has seemed to have mended any bridges he may have burned w/BB.

So he's spotted at practice and gives a vague response to a question about him playing again, and now we're supposed to sign a player who hasn't played a meaningful snap in years? He didn't even look that good when he left the game, motivation to play or not. LOL

He will always be one of my favorite all-time players, but we'd better leave this one alone. We already have an aging receiver taking a visit and he's more in football shape than Randy.

If he can at least be 70% of what he used to be, hell yeah. Was gonna compare him to Steve Smith Sr, but he's actually older than him by 2 years (38 years old). I'd love to see what his speed is now, how his hands are.

No please put an end to this madness. He's not coming back. He wasn't even that good when he played 3 years ago.

I am sure Moss still has the speed to compete, but at the end it wasn't his speed that was the problem that I could see, it was his hands.
When he was younger he would go up and get the ball, but before he retired he didn't seem to be able to do that anymore.
Plus, he was a little bit of a head case....Just a little bit.

Bingo. We get this every preseason and it gets stupider every season.

Moss over Wayne? Wow! SMH! Wayne was putting up Moss like numbers just 3 years ago. Moss could barely play 3 years ago. Even last year when Wayne was hurt he put up decent numbers.

I think Moss would be happy to help a team in any way...4th or 5th WR. IMO Wayne would want more...but I really have no idea.
