LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! so sick of hearing this hypocrite on espn radio all the time bashing Brady saying they need to protect the shield! Let's see how he likes getting his name drug through the mud, but hell at least his is deserved!

Usually, there's competence at the top, at least. The commissioner has traditionally been a lawyer who at least has the legal knowledge and work experience to understand what he should and shouldn't do and conduct himself accordingly. Meanwhile, the owners have traditionally been self-made men who know how to run an organization and bought their teams because they had a vision of where they want to take the league.

What we're seeing now is what happens when the commissioner is just some ******* who has literally no work or life experience outside the NFL, a job which was handed to him on account of his father's status. Meanwhile, more and more teams are run by second or third generation kids who, like Goodell, inherited their lot in life.

I'm not a huge fan of Kraft, but if nothing else he's a savvy, self-made man who knows what he's doing. And has the demonstrated ability to run a top-flight organization. That's increasingly making him a rarity in the NFL.

The stench this league gives off gets more smelly by the minute.

Both. He's the owners' fall guy, and he has his own fall guys (Vincent, Pash if need be, Kensil, etc.) as well.

The owners need a few layers of fall-guy insulation to make sure none of the crap that happens here comes back to them.

So we can assume that Goodell and the NFL leadership where generally aware of the context of CC's speech, and by allowing it to be said were complicit in the premise that having a 'fall guy' was endorsed by the league!

Normally, manufactured social media faux-outrage bothers me. But in this case, I'm going to enjoy the hell out of it. Adios Cris. Hope he made some smart decisions with his money, because I doubt he'll draw another paycheck from ESPN.
