It's good to let the rookies get reps in training camp and pre season. Bringing in an old vet is counter-productive to that. If Wayne is signed....it's not to take away reps from rookies...it's to replace Edelman, LaFell or Amendola. I am not happy to see this as others are.
People are happy the Pats are addressing an issue with a player who may be somewhat effective. I am sure there is not one poster here happy that we have 5 injured WRs

I can't believe anyone except for a troll is happy with Edelman, LaFell or Amendola could be down for the start of the season. I won't go there.

Nobody is. Its a non issue. I think Lafell could go on reserve PUP. Hope he does not but RW would be ok for 5 games if he does. Its only 5 games. And perhaps Dobson will make an appearance during that time.

If the Patriots sign Wayne he should make the team. As should Dobson. When Lafell comes back he is on he team too.

I don't think you cut any of Edelman Amendola Lafell Dobson Wayne. I think if you have those guys you go to more 3 WR sets.

I think the idea is to try to cut down on Edelman's and Gronk's snaps a bit this year if you can.

I did not lose respect for AV when he went to the colts. Its business and it worked out nicely in the end with an upgrade in some ways.

But since we have kicked their asses a lot lately I can see why their fans would be negative.

Wayne stealing a roster spot from injured players? What are you guys talking about? We barely have enough healthy bodies to run a practice at the WR position.

I would love if we were up big on the colts on the goal line and run a power formation with Gronk Chandler openint up a hole for Reggie Wayne to run it up the gut

Our WR corps are like something from the Bataan death march. Of course you take an experienced WR who was productive last year. No-one is saying he is coming in to be Jerry rice, but if we are crippled fro the first few weeks, and maybe without Brady, I want experience

Because you have the most sober view, right?

The fact that WRs are injured is not for debate, it is the latter part of your earlier statement that isn't grounded in reality.

All you can say with certainty now is that Edelman, Dobson and LaFell aren't ready to play and and even the younger guys are battling injuries. It was obvious that they were going to need to bring someone in simply to have enough bodies to practice with.

We don't need to sign Wayne to have enough bodies to practice with. We could just sign another UDFA or two.

Wait...what?

Why would you rather sign UDFAs when you're essentially doing the same by signing Wayne?

Why not sign a guy who can patch holes early and provide depth later? Instead of two guys that will be cut in a week?

Your stance makes no sense at all.

Not sure what this says about which injured WR. All I know is that when I close my eyes, I see Ochocinco and Torry Holt.

Hey! Who else thinks this Harper kid looks like a world beater?

I thought wes might get the call in the situation the pats are in. but i like me some Reggie Wayne.

Better sign him before Green Bay calls. Much better spot for him.

Wayne is a perfect possession receiver for Brady. He can play on the inside or outside and is phenomenol on slant routes.
