I don't love it. This means that one (or two) or our five receivers are not ready to play and will be put on PUP or IR.

We used to have the following for Game One. Now, we need Wayne.
Edelman
LaFell
Amendola
Gibson
Dobson
Harper (PS)

Unless it's about Edelman or Lafell, I don't see any downside with this.

reggie still knows the colts playbook

Hes a savy veteran and had a pretty decent year last year considering his injuries.

If he is healthy i cant think of a better #4 receiver. Especially if gibson really is hurt

A lot of veterans had questionable desire, skill-set, motivation attitude until they got to New England...not liking the fact that our wide outs may not be ready but we are where we are now (this moves speaks to it) and Wayne will be a great presence in the locker-room along with being able to move the chains...he will be a good addition and insurance until we theoretically get the guys back a bit later in the season...

If he is the #2 WR to start the season and slides to #3 or #4 when LaFell comes back (I am assuming he is going to be on the PUP), I am ok with it. Wayne was a solid WR to start the year last year, but wore down as the season went on. I think the Pats can get a solid 5-6 games out of him before he wears down this year. I don't know if you can count on him for an entire season though.

I'd much rather have him than Gibson.

If only we he had a crystal ball we could of known losing a first and trading up this Year for Amari Cooper who woll be the best receiver in the West.
Oh well Patriots run on Dunkin dinking and dunkin.

If we had traded our first round pick for next year I guarantee you the punishment would have been the loss of a 1st the following two years.

Sums up my thoughts. I think having a vet like him is important for young guys, but not at the expense of HAVING those young guys who have shown promise.

If Harper has a legit chance at making the roster because of what he's shown then I might take him over a 1 year flyer at Reggie and potentially losing a kid who looks like he may get it and has show some pretty decent return skills.

He'll fit into multiple roles. Reggie will be a mentor and depth chart hog more than a receiver.

Edleman
Wayne
Amendola
Slater
Dobson
Harper

LaFell pup list
Tymes IR
Boyce cut
Gibson cut
Krause PS

IMO due to age versality upside Harper wouldn't make it to the PS.

Am I the only person that's a little worried about LaFell now?
I've been posting a lot about him the past few days, so no. I've been worried as well.

This, too, I was saying for a while. I think this is due to injury more than anything else at this point. You could probably say they're taking it easy with Edelman. But I don't really think that's the case with Dobson or LaFell. They need reps. And yes, I do believe LaFell could use reps even though he played well last season.

This screams LaFell to PUP to me.

To me it screams two more guys got hurt last night and the team is running out of bodies. I don't think this would have happened with or without LaFell's injury if everyone else were healthy enough to play.

i love your belichick picture. he looks like the grim reaper!!!

as for reggie..36 years old/can't get open. not a good sign if this old has been makes the roster.
