Is there some way to disable this? I understand the need for advertising on here, but right now to read a message I have to scroll through
- the Patsfans header section
- a big picture of TB
- today's headlines
- scrolling twitter/other stuff/ feed

... to finally arrive at the message thread i was looking for. Does all this stuff really need to be at the read message level?

I replaced the ad that was there before with the feed for the sake of having something a little more newsworthy and including some things from the players, which wasn't there before. So it didn't add much in terms of pixel height and I was trying to eliminate having just an ad there to make that space a little more interesting.

Also, some other news, as an FYI, the header here is going to be reduced down and replaced with the same style that you see on the front page:

So the total scrolling height should be reduced once that's done and it will be a little more streamlined. However, I'm aware of what it's doing on mobile and will be removing it on mobile browsers to eliminate the scroll that's required there. That's a little excessive, and I'll definitely be fixing it over the weekend.

OK, I missed that this just replaced something else. Shows how much I pay attention, I guess. Thanks for the quick feedback!

No worries. Always appreciate the feedback and I'll continue tweaking things. This place is always a work in progress, believe me ;)

Hi Ian, It seems that the new scrolling headlines are bogging down my system.

Anyway I can minimize it. Even typing this post has a 1/2 second lag per letter. haha
