ESPN "apologizes"

Besides doing it in the dead of night, it boggles my mind that they can apologize without really referencing what they're apologizing for. It's like they want to apologize but also want everyone to continue to believe the Patriots filmed the Rams walkthrough.

Why did it take them 13 years to do this?

If you apologize to someone, but nobody hears the apology, is it really an apology?

I'm sure that they repeated their apology on sportscenter throughout the day today......oh, wait....

That's ok, they must've printed the apology on espn.com......um, hold on.....

Ok, ok. I'm sure that they posted the apology on twitter........uhhhhhh....

Well, they must have at least put it on.....oh the hell with this

Like sand through an hourglass, times change public opinion changes, a little late but ESPN delivers this late night apology after taking a cue from the NFL who loves those late night leaks....

Is it me or does anyone else think it's "funny" that the Patriots have had to twice stave off false accusations of cheating in the weeks leading up to an appearance in the Super Bowl?

I wonder if those who lodge those complaints placed heavy bets against the Pats?
Including the commish?

Let's see how much mention this gets in Mike Reiss' blog. My guess is he'll wait for a mailbag or online chat question and deal with it then.

Well the fact that they even did this says they got a letter from the Patriots legal counsel. No way in hell they would have just decided to apologize out of the blue.
I think you might be on to something. When a ship sinks the rats start eating each other.

Soup Bowl 36 :D

Pathetic weasel company issues it past midnight.

I LOL'ed at Florio's report on it. He doesn't even try to hide the contempt he has for ESPN's reporting :D

I'm glad to see the Patriots fighting back and not just trying to ignore the noise. That's for BB and the team, but the rest of the organization should be out there fighting all this B.S. each and every day.
