Ben Volin @BenVolin
UPDATE: Hearing over after 2:15. No settlement. Judge Berman was very, very critical of NFL. Brady/NFLPA are making a good case

I will say it again. Somebody is going down in a big ball of flames. Sure, you can fool the American public very easily. Getting them to hate someone they already dislike is easy.

Fooling a federal judge is a little harder. If we idiots on this site can poke a 100 holes in the NFLs report and tactics and story imagine what someone smarter than Kessler, Pash, Wells can do.

No one in the NFL knows how to play well in the sandbox and I think I learned how to do that in kindergarten.

Berman: "There is a bit of a quantum leap from the finding of Mr. Wells to the finding of Mr. Goodell." (from general awareness to scheme)

They don't understand IDL and you expect them to get the concept of quantum????

After Breer's last tweet, I believe that that report from 'league sources' was another false leak from the NFL to try to make Brady look guilty. Same underhanded tactics as they've used all along. I'm just surprised that Schefter would fall for it, after seeing what went down with Mort.

Hopefully he knows how to issue a retraction, at least.
Even if it is a false leak, it's a pointless one, because settlement offers will be moot once Berman will rules on the issue.

"League sources", the supreme source of truth and integri.... I can not even finish that word.

At this point Berman should tell the NFL. "Guys you can leave on your own or we will throw you out, Chose now."

"which of the 4 games was for tampering vs non-cooperation?"

is this the winner?

Volin reported some actual facts today...but he has no idea what time it is.

Volin must have found a scrap of paper from an actual reporter on the ground. There is no way he can report factually that the NFL took a beating twice in a week all by himself. So I doubt the MCI came up with this all by himself. Hell, the only reason he went to New York is for Goodell to sign his Jets jersey.

After all of these reports I find it extremely difficult to buy the leak that Brady will accept punishment. Either they twisted something to make it sound bad or it's blatantly false.

If the NFLPA is making a really great case it makes zero sense for Brady to take any kind of suspension.

Berman: "Which of the four games were for ball tampering and which were for non cooperation?"

Berman: "The next time someone tampers with a ball but cooperates, what suspension would he get?"

Nash: "Brady was not just generally aware. He was involved." Berman: "Why doesn't it say that?"

Berman: How did he pick steroid use to explain he suspended Mr. Brady four games?"
